After three successful outings as CIA agent Ethan Hunt, Hollywood star Tom Cruise is set to reprise the role for the fourth time in ‘Mission Impossible 4’.
According to The Sun, the project will be helmed by JJ Abrams, the director of ‘Mission Impossible 3’.
Abrams, who is best known as the creator of the ‘Lost’ series and director of ‘Star Trek’, told the newspaper: “I am incredibly honored that Tom has invited me back as a producer on Mission Impossible 4.”
The film is likely to release next year. While Tom is sure to play the CIA agent again, Ving Rhames might be cast as Luther. JJ Abrams’ ‘Mission Impossible 3’ made just a little less than $400 million worldwide on a production budget of $150 million, which makes the film feel like much more of a success. Not to forget that the film came out around the time when Cruise had a negative public image due to his views on Scientology among other things.
