Katrina Kaif says no to 'Life Partner'

Katrina Kaif is not interested in Life Partner, the movie, that is. The film, starring Fardeen Khan, Genelia D'Souza, Tusshar Kapoor and Prachi Desai is a story of modern-day couples. Katrina was sought for a cameo appearance opposite Govinda, the only male actor without a heroine in the film.

Director Rumi Jaffrey expected that Katrina, who’d played a full-fledged romantic role opposite Govinda in David Dhawan’s Partner, would be excited about the cameo with Chi Chi. But the actress didn’t have any time to spare for the cameo.

No, she wasn’t busy working on some other film. Rather, she’s in London for her birthday and family reunion.

The director says waiting for Katrina would have meant delaying the wrap-up shoot of the movie since most of the shooting has already been done. And since producers Abbas-Mastan wanted to release the film mid-August and not postpone it, the idea to rope in Katrina for the cameo was dropped.

In her place Amrita Rao was roped in. A few days back, Amrita shot a few scenes and a song with Govinda for the film.
