Kiwi in Jude Law baby scandal

A British newspaper claims a New Zealand-born model will give birth to Jude Law's baby daughter, Sophia, in October.

The Daily Mirror newspaper in Britain has reported Samantha Burke, 24, an aspiring actress, seven months pregnant with the British movie star's fourth child, was born here.

It will be Jude's fourth child. He has three, Rafferty, 12, Iris, 8, and Rudy, 6, with ex-wife Sadie Frost.
After news broke yesterday, Samantha went into hiding at her mother Lea Burke's home in Pensacola, Florida, in the United States.

The gorgeous brunette and Jude, 36, had a passionate fling in New York over Christmas while he filmed Sherlock Holmes.

Lea's mother said her daughter had been "stressing and upset" over the ladies' man, who "hasn't called once" since he received a letter breaking the news of the pregnancy.

"Samantha has no idea what is going on," Lea told the Mirror.

"She is very stressed out and upset. This was never planned and Jude didn't want the baby.

"It was a total accident. But Samantha is staying positive and hoping Jude will get in touch.

"She really wanted to get hold of him, but he hasn't called once.

"At the moment, they have some sort of agreement in place - I guess his lawyer is probably telling him not to contact her."

It was "hard to understand" why he didn't just "pick up the phone", she added.

Late yesterday, Samantha issued a statement, read by her lawyer, saying the quotes from her mother had been "taken out of context" and that Jude had been "responsive and supportive" and would remain so "as a father once baby Sophia is born".

In a video of the press conference, on the Sun newspaper's website, the only words Samantha utters, after introducing herself, is requesting privacy during this "hard time".

Jude made his own statement saying he would "fully support" his new baby.

According to the Daily Mail, Jude's ex-wife and children are "distraught" by the news.

This latest scandal will do little for the Alfie act
