Singer Lady Gaga says condoms are her favourite accessory.
The fashion-forward singer - who is known for sporting a series of bizarre hats, gloves and shoes - was honoured with a Stylemaker award at the 13th annual Accessories Council Exchange (ACE) Awards on Monday and used her acceptance speech as an opportunity to promote safe sex.
Accepting the award from designer Marc Jacobs, she said: "I think we must all remember that the ultimate accessory is the condom."
The outspoken singer's fashion outlook is in contrast to her musical attitude, after she recently said song writing was like "mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex."
She explained: "Writing a record is like dating a few men at once. You take them to the same restaurants to see if they measure up, and at some point you decide who you like best.
"When you make music or write or create, it's really your job to have mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex with whatever idea it is you're writing about at the time."
