John Lennon’s Murder Won’t Get Parole In 2011

The man who murdered John Lennon on a New York street was denied parole today. Mark David Chapman, the mentally ill man who shot the former Beatle, did so in 1980 after hearing voices which directed him to do the evil deed.

A group of officials decided that Chapman would not be granted parole, at least for now. According to reports, the New York’s parole division continued to have concerns regarding whether or not Chapman would be able to behave normally in the public.

Specifically, the group stated that there was some issues concerning Mark David Chapman, specifically, the disregard [he] displayed for the norms of our society and the sanctity of human life.”

Yoko Ono, Lennon’s ex-wife is reportedly quite pleased with the determination. Chapman is eligible for parole again in 2012.
