Shah Rukh Khan blames role for weight loss

Shah Rukh Khan has said that his recent film role is to blame for his weight loss.

The star revealed that the costume in Anubhav Sinha's new superhero project is causing him to shed the pounds, reports the Hindustan Times.

"Yes, I have lost a lot of weight. I need to put some weight on… even the kids [Aryan and Suhana] are thinking I am a 90Ib pushover weakling," said Khan.

"It's because I had been wearing a superhero suit for Ra One. The suit is made of silicon and Styrofoam and rubber and after wearing that suit for eight to nine hours daily you tend to lose weight."

The film, which also features Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, will be released in summer 2011.
