Hollywood heartthrob Javier Bardem is lined up to star in an upcoming movie about the Chilean miners who are set to be freed after being trapped underground for 67 days.
The film tells the tale of the 33 men who have been trapped in a collapsed mine for the past two months but are set to be pulled to safety in the coming days and the Oscar-winning actor is expected to play the lead role, reported Contactmusic.
The ordeal of the trapped men has grabbed international headlines and movie bosses are keen to give the incident a celluloid treatment, based on the accounts of the miners.
The 33 men have been trapped in the San Jose mine for 67 days and will return to the surface via a 622 metre rescue tunnel, although they have had arguments over who will be the last man out.
