Mexican singer needs more dental surgery after bad fall

Mexican singer Gloria Trevi will have to undergo more dental surgery after suffering "facial trauma" when she took a bad fall last month while disembarking from an airplane, her publicist announced.

The artist "will undergo an operation and endodontic treatment and will have to comply with the doctor's instructions to prevent complications", according to a press release.

The publicist added that because of the operation, Trevi's second since the accident, she had been forced to cancel her concerts scheduled for Aug 19 and 20 in Chihuahua and Ciudad Juarez, and she had had to postpone the filming of a music video.

On July 14, Trevi - well known for hits such as "Pelo Suelto" and "Zapatos Viejos" - fell when descending from an airplane at the Toluca airport, about 60 km from Mexico City.

In the fall, the pop diva injured her lower lip and cracked some teeth and had to undergo emergency surgery.

The 43-year-old Trevi will resume her normal activities starting Aug 23 and it is expected that at the beginning of September she will visit Las Vegas on her singing tour to promote her latest album, "Gloria".
