Lamb of God singer held in Prague over death of fan: report

PRAGUE: A singer with US heavy metal group Lamb of God has been arrested in the Czech Republic by police investigating the death of a fan at a concert, a report said on Saturday.

Randy Blythe, 44, was detained at Prague airport on Wednesday in connection with the death of the 19-year-old fan at a 2010 show in the city, the private TV Nova said on its website www.tn.cz.

The report said Blythe could be released on Monday after paying bail set at four million Czech koruna ($200,000).

The fan repeatedly tried to climb onto the stage before allegedly being pushed by Blythe and hitting the concrete floor, the report said.

He died 14 days later of his injuries, TV Nova said.

A post-mortem reportedly found that he had not been drunk or under the influence of drugs.

A Lamb of God concert in Prague scheduled for last Thursday at which Blythe had been due to perform was cancelled. (AFP)
