American Idol Sued For $100 Million

American Idol is being sued for $100 million by a former contestant. Ian Benardo, originally sued the popular, televised talent show for $300 million but withdrew that lawsuit.

He re-filed and this time leveled a $100 million lawsuit at the company, claiming that the second figure was a “cleaner” number.

Benardo is suing for sexual harassment and discrimination. He claims that he was exploited because of his sexuality. According to Ian, the producers at Idol ordered him to “gay it up.” No word from American Idol concerning the suit.

I’m not a ‘legal eagle’ but I’m not so sure that he has a strong case. However, who knows? Perhaps American Idol will settle with Benardo to get the whole thing over with. That seems to be the way of the world now-a-days, simple settle and move on. Guess, we’ll have to wait and see. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated as best we can!

'American Idol' Top 7 visit Dodger Stadium

The American Idol finalists have visited the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium.

This season's remaining seven contestants were photographed posing in team jerseys on the field before last night's game.

A post accompanying the photograph on the Dodgers' official Facebook page read: "Maybe a future anthem singer in the mix?"

The Top 7 also posted their thoughts on the experience on the Idol Facebook page and Twitter account, where Michael Lynche revealed that he met Don Newcombe who once played with Jackie Robinson.

Fox recently confirmed that next week's show will feature Alicia Keys as guest mentor with a theme of "inspirational songs".

American Idol continues this Tuesday at 8/7c on Fox.

Singer Blige will be 'Idol' guest judge

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 Singer Mary J. Blige will serve as a guest judge on "American Idol" for its upcoming ninth season, a source with the U.S. TV series says.
An unidentified show source said Blige, 38, will help judge "Idol" auditions in Atlanta with regular series judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi, People.com reported Friday.
The source said singer Victoria Beckham was a guest judge for the Fox reality competition during auditions in Boston that ended Friday.
"The judges and production team have been having a lot of fun with Victoria," the source said. "She's had a great response so far, and has been really warm with the contestants."
The guest judges are taking the place of singer Paula Abdul, who left the series because of a contract dispute and has since been mentioned as a possible addition to ABC's "Dancing with the Series."
