Cricketer Chris Gayle eyes Bollywood

Big hitting West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, who is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore at the on-going Indian Premiere League tournament, says he wants to hit a sixer in Bollywood.

That's not all, the Jamaican player is also confident that he will do well in the Indian film industry. Chris Gayle has yet to watch a Bollywood film but he's convinced he will be able to 'take Bollywood away from Salman Khan'.

The cricketer had previously discussed a film career with Shah Rukh Khan, and now it seems he is seriously looking for a break in Bollywood.

Symonds to have fun with Sunny Leone

Australian all rounder Andrew Symonds entered the Bigg Boss 5 House on Wednesday.

This is the first time that an international cricketer is participating in the reality show.

Before entering the House, Andrew said, “I decided to take up Bigg Boss as a challenge. India has been good to me and I have been travelling to India for over 20 years."

On porn star Sunny Leone being a part of the House, Andrew said, “I’m not offended by her profession, as she is doing it for a living. I will get to know her in the house. We will have fun.”

After being thrown out of Bigg Boss 5 for her aggressive behaviour, VJ Pooja Missra is now set to re-enter the reality show albeit as a translator for Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds, who stepped into the house in Karjat Wednesday.

Pooja became a talked about contestant during her stay on the show, as she was extremely argumentative and her reactions were unpredictable.

She picked up fights with almost everyone and retaliated violently towards co-participant Siddharth Bhardwaj due to which she was asked to leave the house.

Jonty Rhodes an inmate in `Bigg Boss 5` house?

Mumbai: For all those diehard fans of Jonty Rhodes, here’s a piece of good news! Buzz has it that the former South African cricketer might be one of the inmates in the house of `Bigg Boss 5`.

The flamboyant cricketer, who is still worshipped as “the finest fielder cricket has ever produced”, is currently in India and is busy touring with the Mumbai Indians’ side for the ongoing Champions League.

Talking to a daily, Jonty gave a hint and said, “I have seen the occasional episode of `Big Boss`, and have also seen `Big Brother`, in different countries around the world. Would love to try my hands at the Indian version of the show, though.”

The former SA player, however, refrained from divulging any details about his probable stint in `Bigg Boss 5`, but said, “I have been coming back to India on regular occasions since 1993, and have not been able to learn much Hindi; how to do Yoga; dance or cook some of the delicious Indian dishes, so I hope being on the show will put me in an environment where I am able to cover a few of those skills!”

When asked about his knowledge of Hindi, Jonty was prompt enough to give a smart response. He said, “I obviously don`t possess the same assets as Pamela Anderson, but she seemed to do okay! Anyways the universal language of cricket should see me through!”

Rhodes has commitments with cricket until mid-October, so the duration of his appearance in `Bigg Boss 5` has not yet been decided.

"I have cricket coaching commitments until mid-October, so am not sure when they would be able to slot me in to the show,” he said. Credit

Shane Warne bowls out wife for Liz Hurley?

Australian cricketer Shane Warne issued a statement Monday that he has split from his wife Simone Callahan, following reports he is dating British model-actress Elizabeth Hurley.

The spinner was pictured kissing and cuddling Hurley in a report by Britain's News of the World newspaper on Sunday, prompting her to reveal she split from her India-born businessman husband Arun Nayar "a few months ago", reports contactmusic.com.

Warne refused to comment as he arrived back at his home in Melbourne in the wake of the scandal - but issued a statement confirming he is no longer with his wife Callahan, the mother of his three children.

In a message posted on his website, Warne writes, "Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while ago, our close friends and family were informed at that time. It is a private matter, so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents."

He later added on Twitter.com: "Hope that clears things up for everyone who is interested."

A source close to Hurley revealed she has become "very close" to the 41-year-old former bowler following her separation but is concerned about the distance between them as she lives in Britain and Warne in Australia.

"Shane has been a real support through the tough time she's had splitting with Arun. They have grown very close and there is an intimate bond between them. The only thing standing in their way is geography," said the source.

Now the break-up has been made public, Arun is said to be "embarrassed" by the revelations because of how people will receive the news in his home-country India.

"He is hugely embarrassed and upset. This will be devastating for him. The family had no idea their relationship was over," added the source.

Michael Clarke: 'Lara Bingle is my past'

Michael Clarke has described his split from Lara Bingle as "hard".

The Australian cricket vice-captain, who called off his engagement to swimwear model Bingle following her involvement in a nude photograph scandal, said that he now wants to look "forward".

Clarke told The Australian Women's Weekly magazine: "That's in my past. It's over eight months ago that Lara and I split up. I'd prefer to continue to look to the future.

"I guess anytime a relationship doesn't go the way it's supposed to go and you split up, then there's hard times. It was certainly a tough time, I'm sure, for both of us.

"I'll never understand why there is so much interest in my personal life. For me, it was eight months ago, I'm looking forward."

Bingle recently said that she and Clarke are "the best of friends" and still "have amazing chemistry".
