David Hasselhoff: "I should have been dead"

David Hasselhoff has admitted that he could have died when his alcohol addiction was at its worst.

The actor, currently a judge on Britain's Got Talent, told the News of the World that he had the highest blood-alcohol figure ever recorded at the Betty Ford rehab clinic when he checked in there.

"Medically I should have been dead it was so bad," he said. "It was the end of the line when I entered Betty Ford. I remembered the old Hollywood joke: 'When your career is over, you check into Betty Ford to get press.'

"I had been in rehab once before but stayed for eight days before ordering a taxi and going over the wall. It took God's angels to bring me to the brink of disaster and death to get my attention so that I could finally stop drinking."

He added: "It's not about falling - it's how fast you get up. You can count on me getting up. Hasselhoffs don't duck, we say, 'Bring it on!'"

Hasselhoff is currently dating Welsh factory worker and part-time model Hayley Roberts.

Former 'Baywatch' star David Hasselhoff surprised fans when he joined lifeguards in a rescue boat at Australia's Bondi Beach, wearing his famous red swimming trunks.


The actor/reality TV star is in Sydney to promote an ice cream range, and he couldn''t resist revisiting his past role as Mitch Buchannon in the hit 1990s drama series.

Hasselhoff sailed onto the beach aboard an inflatable lifeboat on Monday before chatting to sunbathers and signing autographs as female models wearing the show's iconic red swimsuit surrounded him.

"I absolutely have a love affair with Australia," the Daily Star quoted him as telling a foreign news agency.

At 58, Hasselhoff dating two women

Actor David Hasselhoff candidly admits he is dating two girls at the same time but not ready for commitment.

"I have a girlfriend in Paris and a girlfriend in San Francisco, and they're really close to me. But I'm not ready emotionally to give yet. I tell them, 'I need to take time for me, I need to grow and find out who I am totally, before I can take care of you'," Hasselhoff, 58, told a magazine

However, Hasselhoff admits juggling two women is not as much fun as it would seem, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"The problem with me is nothing is secret. They say, 'What does that girl have that I don't?' And I'll say, 'She has weekends,' and then she'll hit me. I'm just being honest, they'll read about it and they get jealous, because I'm an honest person. I treat them with respect, just as I would like to be treated," he said.

Supermodel Marisa Miller has shed her clothes for Marc Jacobs' new campaign to fight skin cancer

Fashion designer Jacobs got the Victoria's Secret model to pose for revealing photograph to promote his new skin cancer awareness campaign called 'Protect the Skin You're In.'

However Miller isn't the first to have stripped for the designer's campaign.

The campaign has previously featured the likes of Heidi Klum, Helena Christensen, Dita Von Teese, Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham all showing skin for the cause.

"Since we moved to California I have realized how important it is to practice safe sun for myself and to keep my three boys' skin well protected as well. Skin cancer is a huge problem and I really wanted to help raise awareness by taking part in Marc's initiative," the Daily Telegraph quoted Victoria as telling the Daily Mail.

This sizzling image of Marisa will be printed on yellow tees available at Jacobs boutiques and all the money generated from the sale of the shirts would go to NYU Cancer Institute at NYU Langone Medical Centre.

David Hasselhoff has declared that he is grateful that the footage of his drunken antics was leaked in 2007.

The video, which became a YouTube sensation, features Hasselhoff drunkenly trying to eat a hamburger. Hasselhoff's daughter Taylor-Ann taped the entire incident.

According to WENN, the former Baywatch star said that the leaked footage ultimately led him to get help for his alcohol addiction.

"When I found out about the tape, I was overcome with an amazing sense of calm. God was basically saying, 'It's time to stop'. I knew why Taylor did it: she was afraid for me. I said, 'That's pretty cool that my daughter loves me to say, 'Dad, this is what you look like. We're scared'. End of story."

Hasselhoff also revealed that he has been dedicated to staying sober since then.

"It's not about falling. It's how fast you get up. You can count on me getting up. Hasselhoffs don’t duck, we say, 'Bring it on!'"

Hasselhoff's new reality show The Hasselhoffs premieres tonight on A&E at 10pm.
