Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker top Forbes best-paid actress list

ANGELINA Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker have been named Hollywood's highest-paid actresses by America's Forbes magazine.

Jolie has enjoyed a number of hit films over the past 12 months, including Salt and The Tourist, which have helped her rake in an estimated $US30 million ($A28.13 million) salary between May, 2010 and May, 2011, putting her in joint first place with Parker.

Parker's multi-million dollar earnings came mostly from re-runs of her Sex and The City TV shows, as well as the second movie in the series last year, and her numerous side projects which include a perfume line and a role with fashion house Halston.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon came joint third with earnings of $US28 million ($A26.26 million) each, according to Forbes, while Julia Roberts came fifth with $US20 million ($A18.76 million).

Sarah Jessica Parker buys townhouse in New York

Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick have bought a USD 21-million townhouse in New York's Central Park West area.

The "Sex and the City" actress, who has three children, James, 8, and 17-month-old twins, Tabitha and Marion, with husband Matthew Broderick is moving from her current home in the West Village area of the city to 88 Central Park West, reports contactmusic.com.

According to reports, the new home has a 32-feet long living room, eight bedrooms and five bathrooms.

In addition, there are two walk-in wardrobes in the master bedroom of the property, which has seen its price drop by USD 3.5 million since August.

Sarah Jessica Parker joins fight against sex trafficking in NYC radio spot

'Sex and the City' actress Sarah Jessica Parker and 'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe have lent their voices to a New York City radio spot to fight sex trafficking.

"These kids can be runaways or victims of abusive parents ...they''re desperate, they''re vulnerable and they''re lost," the New York Daily News quoted Sidibe as saying in the radio spot that premiered Thursday.

"It makes me sick to think of those animals taking 12-, 13-, and 14-year-old girls and renting them out to a John," said Sidibe, who was nominated for an Oscar for playing a sexually abused teen.

"At least 100,000 American children are trafficked into prostitution in the United States each year," Parker said in the spot produced for free by advertising firm LPNY.

"It''s important that we fight this plague that affects the lives of so many of our children."

"Let''s help the Brooklyn DA get these dangerous people off the streets," Parker added.

I am old and tired

Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she feels "old and tired".

The 45-year-old Sex and the City actress - who has 7-year-old son James and 10-month-old twin daughters called Marion and Tabitha with actor Matthew Broderick - said that she "runs around" after them all the time.

Parker told Heat magazine: "I don't have a beauty secret. I feel old and tired! I have children I run round after, I try to walk as much as possible, and other than that I buy every cream possible.

"I love beautiful clothes and am privileged enough to have access to a lot of them, but they're returned the next day. They're not mine!

"Having my boy and now the twins, life is delightful. When I used to come to London, my first stop was Harvey Nichols, but now it's all about Hamleys toy shop. That store is amazing!

"The girls couldn't be more different. One is constantly looking around and reaching out, the other is very serious and slightly aloof."

The “Failure to Launch” babe toted some reading material as she stepped out onto the Manhattan street to find shutterbugs eagerly waiting for her.

In related news, SJP told press that though the “Sex and the City” success has afforded the cast any wardrobe they desire, it wasn’t always like that.

“We couldn’t get anybody to loan us a sock for 24 hours back then.” Then came stylist Pat Field. "She was so industrious and smart and creative. She would see the way New York really was at the time but use vintage as a big part of Carries' wardrobe…Part of it was just a necessity, but it was also a design choice."
