After just a 5-day-long trial..Keanu Reeves is cleared

Almost a week ago, Keanu Reeves’ trial for hitting a paparazzo with his car has begun.

Alison Silva, a paparazzo has brought a lawsuit against the “Matrix” star, stating that in March of last year, and as he was trying to get a picture of Reeves in his Porsche as he was leaving his house in Los Angeles, he has hit him with his car.
According to Silva, the alleged accident and the resulting injuries has caused him a lot of damages, as he couldn’t work ever since he hurt his wrist in the incident. He was seeking damages of about $640,800 for medical bills, lost wages and punitive damages.
In the civil case, Reeves has told the jurors through his hour-long testimony that he kept edging his Porsche forward very slowly in order to get Silva who jumped before his Porsche trying to get a better photo, out of his way, but at no point has he ever hit the paparazzo who wouldn’t move with the car.

Keanu also added that as he was moving with his car trying to convince Silva that he had the right of way, he saw him stumbling on the pavement as he was moving backwards.

Silva, who was lurking several cars away of Reeves’ residence waiting for the star to appear –maybe with a new girlfriend- instead, Reeves came out alone covering his face and looking down to avoid any photos taken of him.

Reeves’ attorney affirmed that they were sure all along that the star was not negligent and that he even parked his car and tried to summon aid before checking on the photographer.

After an almost four-hour-long deliberation, the jury has unanimously rejected the civil lawsuit filed by Alison Silva and cleared Keanu Reeves, but the latter was not in court during the verdict, instead he preferred to wait at the building’s cafĂ© roof terrace.
