When You're Strange

So much has been written about the Doors and their charismatic, doomed frontman, Jim Morrison, that it's thrilling to actually see him in action in Tom DiCillo's so-so doc (narrated by Johnny Depp). The most powerful scene in When You're Strange is saved for the EXTRAS, where the icon's misty-eyed Navy admiral father talks about his son for the first time.
