Jessica Simpson - Unusual Engagement Ring!

Does Eric Johnson, a former NFL player, but now unemployed, have the moolah to purchase that extravagant engagement ring for Jessica Simpson?

The ring is designed by Neil Lane, is a five carat ruby, with "old European cut" diamonds on the side which are approximately two carats each. When diamond is the order of the day, why ruby?

Critics are a little skeptical about the marriage. In a bid to sound normal and happy Jessica Simpson got engaged to one time NFL player Eric Johnson. He last played for the New Orleans Saints back in 2008. Johnson split from his wife earlier this year, filing for divorce in February 2010. Jessica and Eric began dating in May this year.

The question which plagues us all is - Did Jessica Simpson get engaged because her ex-husband did? Rumors suggest that she is still not over Nick and is in a state of depression. People close to Jessica are reported to be a little worried as she is going for a marriage that too without a pre-nup agreement.
