Jessica Simpson to wed 'before end of year'

Jessica Simpson has revealed that she will tie the knot with fiancé Eric Johnson before the end of this year.
The star, who was previously married to Nick Lachey for nearly six years, became engaged to the former NFL tight end last autumn.

While speaking to Extra at a Denver event to honour military families, Simpson teased that she and her beau hope to holding their wedding in the coming months.

"My wedding, I still have no date but it will be by the end of the year," she claimed.

Simpson also suggested that she plans to be very involved in the customisation of her wedding dress.

"I think every bride wants to design [her] own dress or at least have a part in it," she added. "It won't be a Jessica Simpson Collection dress, but I will have major say in that."

Last November, Simpson professed that her ruby engagement ring "represents love" and even recently teased that the pair may elope rather than hold a lavish gala.

This is seemingly a huge step for Lachey, considering his heartbreak after he and Jessica broke up. Between the two, Nick has been more stable in the romance department. While he dated a bevyy of beauties, including maybe Kim Kardashian, he has been with Vanessa pretty steadily.

The "Come On Over" singer has been chosen to give out the “Goddess” category at Good Housekeeping’s 125th anniversary celebration in New York City on April 12. The award will be given to women who have changed lives through their beauty, glamour and grace.

The 29 year-old said, "While traveling for my show "The Price of Beauty," I've seen the different ways that beauty is defined around the world. I believe that true beauty comes from within a woman's spirit, mind, and inner strength. I am thrilled to be celebrating some of the greatest and most beautiful women of our time at Good Housekeeping's 125th Anniversary benefit for the National Women's History Museum."

Actress Jessica Simpson has laughed off ex-boyfriend John Mayer's comments about their sex life saying the singer-actress was like a "cocaine drug" to him
