Kate Moss's wedding to Jamie Hince reportedly cost £1m.The three-day event is said to have included a masked ball, acrobats, a £10,000 five-tier cake and a fountain of Cristal champagne.
The supermodel also organised her own mini-festival for Saturday, with performances from Shirley Bassey, Snoop Dogg, Iggy Pop, Bryan Ferry and Beth Ditto.
"Kate didn't mind paying for it because she wanted to thank all her friends and family who have stuck by her during some pretty rough times," a source told the News of the World. "Her dad Peter gave £50,000 and Sir Philip Green is meant to have made a very generous offer to help pay for the wedding as well. Not that Kate needs the money.
"It was very Kate. There was a huge chest of handmade Venetian masks that all had incredible detail and weird images on them. There was baroque music, performing acrobats and a table of Venetian cuisine. There was a fountain of Cristal champagne that was incredible.
"And Jamie had a station serving wine from the Côtes du Rhône. His rocker friends are also very fussy eaters so he made sure that there was a separate vegan and fish menu available. There was a dedicated children's marquee with a team of ten nannies and two drama teachers to put on plays."
Guests at the reception, which took place at Moss's Cotswolds farmhouse, included Sir Paul McCartney, Jude Law, Sadie Frost, Meg Matthews and Naomi Campbell.
Moss also sent bottles of champagne and thank you notes to local residents, after nearby roads were closed for the occasion.
