Pamela Anderson goes desi with bangles, bindi, sari for 'Bigg Boss 4'

Hollywood star Pamela Anderson gave up her hot bikini look and wore a white sequined sari teamed with a sensuous blouse, jhumkas, bangles and a bindi for her entry in Colors' reality show "Bigg Boss 4" here Tuesday night.

The 43-year-old looked ravishing as she entered the house with Yana Gupta's popular item number "Babuji zara dheere chalo" playing in the background. She greeted the housemates with a "Namaste", informs a source.

As expected, the housemates were quite excited to see Anderson, who has entered the show as a guest for three days.

"Ashmit Patel and Hrishant Goswami couldn't believe who they saw and hugged each other," said the source.

The episode showcasing the former "Baywatch" babe's entry will be telecast Wednesday night.

Anderson landed in Mumbai Monday night. This is her first visit to India and she hopes to get "some impressions" of the country during her stay.

"Bigg Boss 4" features contestants like actors Ashmit Patel, Manoj Tiwari, Shweta Tiwari, Sara Khan, Sameer Soni, Dolly Bindra, model Hrishant Goswami, WWE wrestler The Great Khali and former dacoit Seema Parihar, locked inside a house without any communication with the outside world. Sakshi Pradhan out of Bigg Boss 4

Sakshi Pradhan's cranky nature didn't go down too well with either the inmates of "Bigg Boss 4" or the Indian TV audiences. She has been evicted within just two weeks of being on the show.

The former MTV "Splitsvilla" contestant was nominated by last week's captain of the house, Pakistani TV actor Ali Saleem, whose TV persona Begum Nawazish Ali is popular both in Pakistan and India.

Others who were nominated for eviction with Sakshi were Sameer Soni and former dacoit Seema Parihar, but she received minimum votes to save her from eviction.

Sakshi was extremely friendly with the girls in the house, especially with Pakistani actress Veena Malik, but had her share of tiffs and ego hassles with male contestants. However, she did not willingly do the house chores.

Sakshi shed tears before leaving the house on the episode aired Friday.

Sakshi entered the house with 13 other celebrities. The show, hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, requires contestants to be locked inside a house without any communication with the outside world.

Amitabh rejects Australian honour

Big B is in big dilemma. In his latest blog the superstar reveals that he has rejected an offer from Queensland University of Technology of decorating him with an Honarary Doctorate for his contribution to the world of entertainment, due to the latest spate of attacks on Indian students down under. This is what he has to say over the entire episode:I am faced with a dilemma of some intense proportions. And as is the norm, when I am troubled I seek advice and consultation from the extended family.I have been witnessing with great dismay and shock, the recent violent attacks on Indian students in Australia, on the electronic media the entire day. One of them, as is apparent from the coverage, lies in a hospital critically conditioned. There have been diplomatic overtures from both Governments - India complaining and expressing their concern and anger through the level of the Prime Minister and Australia expressing regret, but admitting purported racist overtones in the incident. This is, as many know, the fourth such incident in a month, not to mention several other cases that have been in prominence through the years.Now.. here is the problem and the reason I seek help.Last week, I have accepted from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia an offer of decorating me with an Honarary Doctorate for my contribution to the world of entertainment. This issue was under discussion and consideration by the University Board for some months and has now fructified. It is to be conferred on me in the month of July as a part of the celebrations being held there, to commemorate a retrospective of my films to be inaugurated in the city.I mean no disrespect to the Institution that honors me, but under the present circumstances, where citizens of my own country are subjected to such acts of inhuman horror, my conscience does not permit me to accept this decoration from a country that perpetrates such indignity to my fellow countrymen. And here is where I need your inputs. Am I right in thinking so. And if yes then is my act of refusing the honor justified or not. I shall put this up as my POLL question and shall feel obliged if EF can indicate to me their opinion, for me to be ale to take the correct action.

Amitabh congratulates Rahman, Pookutty and Gulzar for Oscar win

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has described the Oscar wins for A.R. Rahman, Gulzar and Resul Pookutty for "Slumdog Millionaire" as the "happiest day for Indians and the film industry".

In a message posted on his blog: "My warmest and heartiest congratulations to A.R. Rahman and Resul (Pookutty) for winning recognition in music and sound and to Gulzar for co-assisting Rehman in the lyric category."

While Rahman bagged an individual Oscar for the best original score for the Danny Boyle-directed film, the ace composer shared the honour with Gulzar for their song "Jai ho" featured at the end of the film.

Pookutty was awarded the golden statuette for the best sound mixing for the film.

It is for the first time in the history of the Academy Awards that three Indians have won the Oscar - considered the penultimate award in global cinema. The film won eight Oscars.

"International recognition for Indian film talent on one of the most well known and popular forums - this is the happiest day for Indians and the industry," said Amitabh.

Earlier, Amitabh had stoked a controversy by slamming "Slumdog Millionaire" as a film that "projects India as the Third World's dirty underbelly developing nation and causes pain and disgust among nationalists and patriots".

The film, based on Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup's novel "Q&A", stars British Indian debutant Dev Patel and actress Freida Pinto in the lead, apart from Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in pivotal roles.

Big B all praise for Ajay

Recently Amitabh Bachchan in his blog went all out in praise of Ajay Devgan with whom he shot for the film Teen Patti.

“The crowds below are swelling. The police has been informed to bring order. It’s a hundred meter walk from the ground door to the van. It’s a gauntlet. The masses explode and cheer and applaud. I feel elated and swell my chest. Hey! At 67, not bad to still demand such recognition. It’s then that I notice another fancy vanity van. It’s Ajay Devgan’s. Yes of course. He is playing a day’s guest appearance today. Damn! And I thought the crowds were for me. Sad. But happy for Ajay... “We all live within feet of each other. Ajay and Kajol now 10 metres away from my boundary wall in Jalsa. Opposite him, 6 metres away, Dharamji, Sunny and Bobby. They share common boundary wall with Yash Chopra, Adi Chopra... and we never see or meet each other!! Ajay called on phone after about eight months when we were in the same hotel in London. I was presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dharamji in Yorkshire, England, where I met him after years!! Ha..Ha.. But I know and they know that any time they need me or I them, we will be the first to come together!!”
