Charlize reveals adoption plans

Charlize Theron is desperate to have a baby. The 36 year old actress has ditched her boyfriend of 10 years, Stuart Townsend, and is ready to adopt a baby. Theron tells Germany’s In Touch magazine, “I want a baby. If it would happen tomorrow I would be very happy.”

When asked if she would consider adopting as a single mother she said, “Why Not? I’m open to everything in life.” Charlize has previously spoken out about adoption when she said, “There are so many unwanted children on this earth and it’s our job to care for them. And if we don’t we’re doing the world a disservice.” But in this day and age if a single woman wants a baby, she should get a baby.

Charlize Theron kills ninjas in Brandon Flowers’ new video

Charlize Theron will be seen battling ninjas in the new video for Brandon Flowers’ debut single, Crossfire. With her fighter avatar, the Oscar-winning actress has indulged Australian director Nash Edgerton’s childhood fantasy by killing the black-clad bad guys in the video.

The special effects-packed video shows Flowers kidnapped by ninjas before Theron rescues the helpless singer from ‘The Killers’ with some steely swordsmanship. “When I was a kid I used to dress up as ninjas, so it was a way of getting that out of my system,” Stuff.co.nz quoted Edgerton as telling a foreign news agency.

“It’s about a relationship where one person is trying to get the other out of trouble, I wanted to do something around the idea of Brandon Flowers being saved. I was wondering who could possibly do this kind of thing to him and then it came to me … ninjas,” he added.

Theron agreed to take the lead role after confessing to being a big fan of ‘The Killers and Edgerton’s film ‘Spider’.

When Theron almost fell into the casting couch

Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron has recently revealed details of how she nearly fell victim to the casting couch culture in Hollywood.

The South African star moved to California at the age of 19 to try her luck in the movies. Theron, who won an Oscar for the 2003 drama "Monster", admits it was tough trying to make it in show business and she saw the darker side of Hollywood first hand, reported contactmusic.com.

Narrating the incident, she said, "I thought it was a little odd that the audition was on a Saturday night at his house in Los Angeles, but I thought maybe that was normal.

"He was in his Hugh Hefner pyjamas, I go inside and he's offering me a drink, and I'm thinking, my god this acting stuff is very relaxed.

"But it soon becomes very clear what the situation was. I was like, 'Not going to happen! Got the wrong girl, buddy!'"

Theron kisses woman for $140,000

South African-born actress Charlize Theron auctioned off a kiss for $140,000, and the winning bidder was a woman, US magazine reported Friday.Theron, 34, took part in a live auction during a gala for the charity OneXOne Thursday in San Francisco. She was initially selling a 2010 trip to South Africa that included World Cup tickets, a safari and a meet-and-greet with Nelson Mandela. But she raised the stakes after bidding stalled at $37,000, far less than actor Jeremy Piven had just raised. To sweeten the deal, she offered up a seven-second kiss for $130,000 to a male bidder, but a woman in the audience quickly bettered the deal with a $140,000 bid.Theron is in a long-term relationship with actor Stuart Townsend, 36."My boyfriend is not here tonight," she joked before a smooch that lasted 20 seconds.

Marriage still not in the cards for Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend

Oscar winner Charlize Theron has been doing the rounds promoting her latest flick, "The Burning Plain", and once again she’s reiterated her firm stance against marriage because gay couples can’t, for the most part, legally wed.
Charlize has been dating Irish actor/writer/director Stuart Townsend for nearly nine years, and though she affirms that their relationship is set for life ("By now we've kind of realized that we're going to take this journey together,” she told the September issue of Vogue), folks shouldn’t expect a fancy wedding to celebrate that fact.
“I think if we ever have children, I would want my children to look at (her stance) as an example of choice and how important that is to live your life and not just talk, because talk is cheap,” the South African stunner told the Moviefone website last week.
“I've already once lived in a country where certain people got certain things and certain people didn't, and I refuse to live in another country that does that. I will not take part in a ceremony that right now is not available to everybody,” she added.
Theron is full of hope, though, that the issue of gay marriage is headed in a direction that will lead to equality for all couples, gay or straight.
“It's going to be a relentless movement, and I hope it's a relentless movement, because I think that's the only way it's going to happen. Being relentless is a sense of showing the rest of the world a new face of family, what family is,” she feels.
“If Christians were being attacked the same way, or heterosexual couples were being attacked the same way, I would be fighting for them. I worry when we start to take away the quality of certain people's lives based on religion and based on very personal beliefs.
“These are not universal beliefs, and when human life suffers from that, that worries me. Because that can very easily get flipped on any of us.”
While traditional marriage isn’t on the cards, children certainly are in the couple’s future. "I just know I'm going to have five boys," Charlize also told Vogue.
The September cover girl for the magazine certainly looked stunning in her photo spread, and she must have struck up a friendship with editor Anna Wintour as well. Charlize and Stu were pictured with the famously frosty Anna at the U.S. Open tennis championships earlier this month.
Speaking of children, Dubliner Stuart, 36, will likely be well equipped to deal with the pitter-patter when they eventually arrive. While reading his profile on Imdb.com, we were surprised to see that he has two younger half-siblings, a brother Hugo born in 2000, and a sister Ella, who arrived in 2005.
