Divya Dutta launches 'I for India'

Film and Television personality Divya Dutta launched the book 'I for India', written by upcoming writer Karan Khanna, at a bookstore at Churchgate in South Mumbai last night.

'I for India', claimed to be the first work of 'disaster fiction' in India, is a story about a young man, who goes through a life changing experience, when he finds himself in the middle of the November 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

''The protagonist in the book aims to change the face of the country, stir up the youth to be a part of the system and fight the system and change it the way they want it to be'', said Karan.

''Deep down each one of us wants a better future and a better place to live in, the book shares these very dreams of the people and promises to see India as a developed country'', he said.

The actress spoke about the book and praised the young writer.

''From whatever I have heard about the book, it seems to be a very good story for a hindi film and considering the fact that it is aimed at the youth, I am sure it will be a good read as well'', she said.

Dutta honeymoon 'will promote eco issues'

Lara Dutta's honeymoon could be cancelled because the Goan beach she was planning to visit has "disappeared" because of a stranded cargo vessel called River Princess.

The authorities in Goa are planning to use Dutta's story to promote their environmental cause, New Kerala has reported.

Campaigner Fermino Fernandes said: "We will use the Lara Dutta [and Mahesh Bhupathi]'s wedding to bring the attention of the country to the River Princess issue.

"[The national media] only have to swing their cameras a little bit from the wedding venue to the boat, which is there for more than 10 years only because the government does not care."

Dutta married tennis doubles specialist Mahesh Bhupathi in a white-themed wedding ceremony this week.

Hollywood here comes

Divya Dutta like a true Libran surely knows how to balance work and pleasure.

The talented actress will be going to Los Angeles to have a meeting for another Hollywood biggie.

And that’s not it, after attending the meeting; Divya will welcome 2010 with her bunch of friends in the city of Angles. So looks like this trip will surely be rewarding for the actress form both the professional and personal side.

The icing on the cake was that recently the actress received an award for the ‘Best supporting actress in a Comic role’ for the movies ‘Welcome to Sajjanpur’ and ‘Love Khichdi’ racing past many other gifted actresses competing in the same category.
