Halle Berry suffers minor head injury on Los Angeles set

LOS ANGELES: Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry suffered a minor head injury while shooting a fight sequence for a movie in Los Angeles on Tuesday night and was treated at a hospital and released, her publicist said on Wednesday.

"She checked out healthy and was released. She'll continue production as planned," publicist Meredith O'Sullivan said in an email.

Berry, 45, is shooting "The Hive," a thriller directed by Brad Anderson and also starring Abigail Breslin.

An ambulance took Berry from the set in central Los Angeles to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and the set was shut down, the celebrity news website X17 reported. A hospital spokeswoman declined to say if Berry was treated there.

Barry hit her head on lights on the set of the 2004 film "Catwoman" but was not seriously injured, according to IMDb.com, a movie database.

She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the 2001 film "Monster's Ball." (Reuters)

Halle Berry's intruder now charged with burglary

A man who has been accused of stalking actress Halle Berry has now been charged with burglary.

Richard Anthony Franco, 27, was charged with felony stalking after he was arrested earlier this month for trespassing on the actress' property three times in three days. The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has now added the additional charge, reports contactmusic.com.

Franco is currently behind bars, while Berry has also obtained a restraining order against him and it states he must stay 500 yards away from her, her family and her home and bars him from attempting to contact her for three years.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Aug 4.

Halle Berry calls police over home intruder

Halle Berry called police to her Los Angeles home yesterday after an intruder broke into the property.

The Monster's Ball actress dialled 911 after spotting an unidentified man "lurking around" in her front garden, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

The individual is said to have scaled a privacy wall bordering the residence and only fled after several people in Berry's home ran outside to confront him.

The man is suspected of coming from a group of independent paparazzi who have allegedly begun to linger around Berry's house and follow her around Los Angeles.

The LAPD is currently investigating the break-in, but has not yet passed comment.

Berry's home was targeted by graffiti artists last July, who spray painted a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi onto her front gate.

Berry was recently attached to a cable television project entitled Higher Learning, which was shopped around US networks last month.

Halle Berry: 'I should have married Muhammad Ali'

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, resplendent in a midnight blue dress and smile to match, stole the show at a star-studded fundraiser in Phoenix headlined by Muhammad Ali over the weekend.

She didn't steal the former boxing champ, however. With a wink and a smile of her own, Ali's wife, Lonnie, made sure of that, reports former USA TODAY staffer Greg Boeck.

Among the honorees at Celebrity Fight Night -- a gala event that raised $6.6 million for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center to bring its 17-year total to $72 million -- twice-wed Berry told the crowd, "I would have been better off not marrying all these other men. I should have married Muhammad Ali instead.''

Answered Lonnie: "Now, wait a minute.''

After her acceptance speech, Berry planted a major smooch on Ali. Also honored was Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons, who pledged $1 million to the center.

A live auction featured two donors who paid $400,000 each to have dinner with singer Reba McEntire at her Beverly Hills home and another donor who paid $400,000 to have dinner with entertainer Billy Crystal and actor Robert De Niro in New York. American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson and this year's Idol finalists were among the performers.

Halle Berry 'honoured in Beverly Hills'

Halle Berry has been honoured at the Costume Designers Guild Awards.

The actress was presented with the Lacoste Spotlight Award by Samuel L Jackson at a ceremony held on Tuesday in Beverly Hills.

"Halle looked radiant and seemed giddy on stage," a source told People.

"She stuck completely on topic of the event and didn't mention anything about her personal life, but she had a happy aura. She even skipped away from the podium when her speech was done, and gave Samuel L Jackson a big hug."

The insider went on to say that Berry was nearly mobbed by photographers while on the event's red carpet, adding: "Even as a veteran celebrity, she seemed overwhelmed by all of the madness surrounding her entrance.

"She posed for photos for several minutes before dashing inside to the cocktail hour."

Stripping's the simplest thing

Oscar-winner Halle Berry has revealed that playing a stripper’s role in her flick Frankie and Alice was easy.

“[There’s] not much research to play a stripper - you just kind of take your clothes off. It's kind of easy!” the New York Daily News quoted her as telling Access Hollywood at the premiere of the film.

In the film, Berry plays a character with a multiple personality disorder, torn between her stripper persona and a racist alter ego. The 44-year-old actress said she read “thick dense medical books” and spoke to people who suffered from the disordered.

This is not the first time Berry has stripped off on the big screen, as she previously went fully nude in an explicit sex scene for 2001's ‘Monster’s Ball’ alongside Billy Bob Thornton.

Frankie and Alice is releasing on Dec. 17.

'I want more children'

Halle Berry has revealed that she is eager to give her daughter Nahla a brother or sister.

The actress admitted that she can't wait too much longer because of her age.

She told the New York Post: "I'd love more children. I'm 44, so who knows how much longer I can wait?"

Berry, who is now dating Olivier Martinez, also explained that she has the advantage of being able to take Nahla to work with her.

She added: "You make time for what's important. She's not yet 3, so I take her with me.

"Once she's 5 or 6, and in school, I'll have to make a change."

Halle Berry, Martinez confirm romance

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have made their first public appearance as a couple.

The pair were rumoured to have begun dating earlier this year after meeting on the set of their upcoming movie Dark Tide during the summer.

They appeared to confirm the romance speculation when they walked the red carpet together holding hands at the Carousel Of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills over the weekend.

Oscar-winner Berry and Martinez first sparked reports of a relationship when they were spotted together in Martinez's hometown of Paris in September.

Berry separated from model Gabriel Aubry - the father of her young daughter Nahla - in April, while Martinez previously dated Kylie Minogue.

Halle Berry dating Olivier Martinez?

Hollywood beauty Halle Berry has moved on from her split with model Gabriel Aubry and is now reportedly dating French actor Olivier Martinez.

The couple who are starring together in the thriller Dark Tide were spotted this week in Paris together, kissing and holding hands, reported Us magazine.

"Yes, it's a romance. They were instantly attracted to each other and share an intense passion," said a source close to Martinez. Berry, 43, and Martinez, 44, first met on the sets of Dark Tide in South Africa a few months ago.

The film, which is due for release in 2011, follows the character of Sara, played by Berry, who is a modern-day adventurer and Martinez plays her husband. The actor, who played Diane Lane's extra-marital lover in Unfaithful, had dated pop singer Kylie Minogue for four years before parting ways in 2007.

He was more recently linked to Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. After nearly four years together, Berry and Aubry, 34, announced their split this May. They have a 2-year-old daughter Nahla together.

Halle talks about her painful childhood

Hollywood actress Halle Berry has revealed that her father’s violent behaviour left an "indelible" mark on her life.

The Oscar winner was honoured at Hollywood Reporter''s Women in Entertainment breakfast and spilled the beans on her painful childhood. "My father was a very abusive, very violent alcoholic and he left an indelible scar on my life, on my childhood,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. "When a young girl watches her mother be beaten and kicked down the steps and stabbed and punched in the face, not only do you feel a sense of fear but you too feel a sense of worthlessness," she added. The ‘Monster Ball’ star also paid tribute to a former teacher, who helped her overcome her violent upbringing. "She saw in me the need to feel valued and to feel loved and to feel I was worth it," Berry added

Halle Berry feels like a "man in drag" if she wears too much make-up

The 'X-Men' actress - who is considered to be one of the world's most beautiful women - prefers to show off her natural good looks rather than spend time applying beauty products.
She said: "Less is more. When I wear too much make-up, I feel like a man in drag. I prefer to be low-maintenance."
Halle - who has an 18-month-old daughter, Nahla, with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and is believed to be expecting her second child - has revealed she dedicates even less time to preening herself since Nahla was born.
She explained to Britain's InStyle magazine: "My beauty routine has changed since I became a mother. Now all my efforts are for her. I don't style my hair much any more, but I do hers all the time!"
The 43-year-old actress has previously revealed she loves having a family and believes starting a family has changed her life.
She said: "Motherhood will always be my priority now, especially because I had a child for the first time at 41. My priority had been myself for a long time, but now it will always be Nahla. You think you know what love is - until you have a child and discover that unconditional mother love."
