Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene split

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene have reportedly called time on their romance.
The pop star and Twilight actress, who had been dating since last summer, have broken up.
Their spokespeople confirmed the news to People.com.

Ashley, who will be reprising her role as vampire Alice Cullen in the final film in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, and Joe went public with their relationship last autumn and were spotted being affectionate in Disneyland and around Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old singer - who had previously been linked to Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato and Camilla Belle - had been said to be "head over heels" for the 24-year-old actress.

"He thinks she is down-to-earth and absolutely beautiful. He hasn't been this into a girl in a long time," a source told the website.

The duo have had to contend with each other's hectic working schedules. Ashley has been filming the two instalments of Breaking Dawn in Vancouver, while Joe has been busy working on his debut solo album.

Joe Jonas Steps out of the Trio for Solo Project

Better prepare your handkerchiefs Jonas Brothers’ fans because the lead of the Disney famous band has finally confirmed that he will be going solo in his projects temporarily. A representative from Hollywood Records has formally announced that they are planning to release the album of the hot singer early 2011.

Having just recently ended their promotional tour for Camp Rock 2 in North America, Joe was said to have been spotted on a studio working on his upcoming solo projects alone. A trusted insider on Hollywood Records said that the singer has already started working with different producers and writers for his new music which he wants to have an edge of the ‘dangerous and sexy’. The former Disney star also announced his wish to change his image from preppy teenage love boat with suit and tie outfits to sexy bandit mostly wearing t-shirts and leather jackets.

Early this year, Joe has already dropped some hints that he wants to pursue the same path Nick Jonas has taken which is a project that does not involve any of his brothers. Joe just recently announced that he is currently writing songs for his grand side project. Before any negative reactions from fans though, it should be cleared that this move is just a temporary project and that the Jonas Brothers will still be performing on stage together.

Joe Jonas stays silent on Greene rumours

Joe Jonas has remained silent on speculation that he is dating Ashley Greene.

The middle Jonas Brother - who stars in the upcoming Camp Rock 2 - has been linked to Twilight actress Greene in recent weeks after they were spotted together in Los Angeles.

However, when asked if he was "off the market" by Extra at the movie's New York premiere, he replied: "You know we're not going to talk about that... Nice try though!"

The 21-year-old was joined on the red carpet by his co-stars and brothers, including younger sibling Nick who told the website he was eager to watch the movie surrounded by fans.

"Being with the fans and watching it is a completely different experience," he said. "We cheer and laugh at the wrong points because we know what went into making that scene so we have those inside scoops into things that go over everybody else's heads!"

Camp Rock 2 premieres September 3 on Disney Channel in the US and September 17 on Disney Channel in the UK.
