Robert Pattinson sinks teeth into MTV Movie Awards

UNIVERSAL CITY: The MTV Movie Awards was more like "The Team Edward Show."
"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson sucked up the spotlight — and some popcorn-shaped trophies — at Sunday's shenanigan-packed ceremony. Among the goofy actor's moments: winning three different awards, unexpectedly kissing co-star Taylor Lautner, and slipping the F-word past censors when presenting Reese Witherspoon with the special MTV Generation Award.

"It's not always a bad thing to have sexual chemistry with your mother," joked Pattinson, who played the son of Witherspoon's character in "Vanity Fair" and her love interest in "Water for Elephants."

For his role as vampire Edward Cullen in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Pattinson won best male performance, best fight with Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel, and best kiss with Kristen Stewart. Instead of smooching each other, Pattinson declared he didn't "feel like kissing" Stewart before he descended back into the audience and planted his lips on Lautner.

Team Jacob also earned some love from "Saturday Night Live" star Jason Sudeikis, the show's host, who kicked off the silly ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheater by starring in his own version of "The Hangover" in which he went in search of a lost Lautner. The other "Twilight" winners were Stewart for best female performance and "Eclipse" for best movie.

"Natalie, sorry, but the popcorn is mine," Stewart said mockingly, referencing fellow nominee Natalie Portman, who won the best actress Oscar earlier this year for "Black Swan."

It was the third straight year that "Twilight" eclipsed the competition with the most wins at the fan-favorite ceremony. Last year, "New Moon," the second installment of the "Twilight" film franchise, also earned awards for best movie, best kiss, best female performance and best male performance.

"The fact that we're standing up here is a testament to all the hard work that went into `Eclipse,'" Lautner said.

The non-vampire winners who picked up awards Sunday included Emma Stone for best comedic performance for "Easy A," Justin Bieber for best jaw dropping moment for "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," Alexys Nycole Sanchez for best line for "Grown Ups," and Tom Felton for best villain for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1."

"This will look very nice in my downstairs toilet," Felton said of his trophy. "Thank you."

The ceremony was filled with several awkward moments. Sudeikis spent most of his opening monologue cracking jokes about the revelations that Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child with a housekeeper. He also poked fun at singer-actress Selena Gomez, who embarrassingly hid her face from the cameras as he scolded her for kissing fellow teen sensation Bieber and swallowing "three of his baby teeth." Later, Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake cupped each other's genitals while presenting Pattinson with the best male performance trophy.

"I really didn't think I was going to win," Pattinson said during his acceptance speech. "Zac Efron was crying and stuff in that little clip."

The show also served as a promotional platform for Hollywood studios' upcoming films as much as it did as an awards ceremony. Emma Watson, J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg and Elle Fanning were among the celebrities on hand to present sneak peeks at "Super 8," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part One." Robert Pattinson tops 'Gossip Center Hot 45 List'

Not only has he won many a popularity poll, but also reached the zenith of his short career by winning a number of fan favourite awards, and this time it was no wonder that Robert Pattinson did it again as he rose to the peak position on the 'Gossip Center Hot 45 List'.

The ‘Twilight’ heartthrob garnered the number one spot for the second time in the past month.

He ousted fellow attention-grabbing famous faces including runner-up Justin Bieber and third place finisher Carla Bruni, reports the Fox News.

In spite of having a relatively quite start to the week, Pattinson enjoyed a late, yet overwhelming surge upon the release of the first on-set photo from his latest project ‘Cosmopolis’.

Robert Pattinson wants to get married

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he plans to spend old age in a retirement home with his wife.

The actor, who is dating Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, insisted that he is a "romantic" at heart.

He told Glamour: "I want to be with my wife. Sitting on a deckchair, sipping some tea, and reading books in a retirement home, in a beautiful and warm place. I'm a romantic guy."

However, recent reports have claimed that Pattinson intends to split from Stewart because he wants to be single.

A source told Closer: "Rob may soon be a single man - he loves Kristen, but has suggested they have less in common.

"He seems to be finding the relationship tough at the moment - sometimes Kristen just wants to stay in watching films or listening to Bob Dylan. Their hectic work schedules mean they're spending less and less time together and things seem to have become more distant between them."

Robert Pattinson 'became an actor for girls'

Robert Pattinson has confessed that part of the reason why he decided to become an actor was so that he could meet women.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn star, who is dating Kristen Stewart, said that he used to think acting was "pretentious".

He explained: "I suppose it was a variety of things - the pretty girls? There was a theatre around the corner from my house. I guess it was something I always wanted to do, but I thought it was pretty pretentious. I didn't mind the kids that were acting at school but I wanted to do it secretly outside the school."

He told The Sun: "I just liked the environment. I worked backstage for about three years and just watched everything and then I did a couple of plays and I got an agent from one of the plays, totally randomly."

The 24-year-old, who can currently be seen starring opposite Reese Witherspoon in new romantic movie Water for Elephants, also admitted that he loved working with all the animals on set.

Robert Pattinson is this week's web's top star

The promotional efforts for his upcoming movie 'Water for Elephants' has earned Robert Pattinson the top spot on the GossipCenter Hot 45 list.

The 'Twilight' heartthrob ousted last week's champ Kim Kardashian while fending off surges by runner-up Katy Perry and third place finisher Demi Lovato, reports the Fox News.

He's one of the most adored actors to grace the big screen, and Pattinson showed no signs of slowing down after captivating Internet browsers with a plethora of 'Water for Elephants' press related interviews and appearances over the past seven days.

Among the highlights, the English actor was caught sharing a rare PDA moment with girlfriend Kristen Stewart following his movie's NYC premiere while also opening up during visits to the 'Tonight Show,' the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' and 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'.

Robert Pattinson desperate to get rid of 'Twilight' contact lenses

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he hates his 'Twilight' contact lenses.

The actor wants to send the lenses into space after he wraps the vampire movie franchise.
As romantic bloodsucker Edward Cullen, the Brit has been putting the uncomfortable coloured lenses in his eyes for years - and Pattinson admits he literally has to be held down while make-up artists put them in.

"Everyone else has figured out how to do it, and then there''s two people holding me down because I can''t do it myself... It''s so embarrassing for me - after so many years, it''s still a process every single morning," Contactmusic quoted him as telling Entertainment Weekly magazine.

"I actually want to get some kind of plastic explosive... I want to kill them," he added.

Robert Pattinson finds theatre daunting

Robert Pattinson says that as much as he would like to appear in a theatre production, he fears his overzealous fans could spoil the experience.

“I love to do theatre stuff but right now I couldn’t imagine it being a good experience. I just couldn’t imagine it being anything other than people constantly taking photos and stuff.

“I think it’s too much for me to take. I need to have that separation. It’s like there’s too much energy in an audience,” the Daily Express quoted Pattinson as saying.

The British hunk, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’, is making the fourth film in the series, Breaking Dawn, in Canada.

Stewart, Pattinson kiss at pre-Oscars party

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson celebrated the Oscars by sharing a kiss at a pre-Oscar party.

Stewart and Pattinson were two of the many celebrities in attendance at a Friday night party at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, according to Us Weekly.

A witness said: "They definitely kissed a few times."
The witness went on to say that the Twilight couple enjoyed dancing to the music as well.
"They went nuts for 'Empire State of Mind'!" said the witness.
Other stars present included Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Ryan Gosling and Natalie Portman.

I liked filming love scenes with Robert Pattinson

Actress Reese Witherspoon has revealed that she enjoyed filming love scenes with Robert Pattinson in their new film "Water For Elephants".

"I am so lucky," Witherspoon said of her love scenes with Pattinson.

"He's so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup. I mean, he's just so good looking and he's a really nice person."

Pattinson previously played Witherspoon's son in Mira Nair's 2004 film "Vanity Fair".

The actress also revealed that both of them share a more humorous than amorous relationship off screen, reports people.com.

"We'll probably just laugh the whole time because all we do is just laugh and joke around," she said.

In "Water For Elephants", Witherspoon, 34, and Pattinson, 24, play lovers involved in a triangle that develops between their characters and Witherspoon's on screen husband.

Anna Faris 'sends sexy text to father'

Anna Faris has said that she accidentally sent a sexy text message to her father.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime chatshow, the actress explained that she and husband Chris Pratt send suggestive texts to each other every Wednesday.

However, Faris admitted that she recently sent one - which read: "I can't wait to see you in bed tonight" - to her dad by mistake.

"Now this is really going to embarrass my mum that I told you that story," she added to DeGeneres.

Faris will next be seen in Yogi Bear, opening December 17.

Fan 'pays $80k for Robert Pattinson meet'
One dedicated fan has paid $80,000 (£50,599) to visit the set of Twilight: Breaking Dawn to meet star Robert Pattinson.

The winning bid was the result of a charity auction to benefit children's organisation the GO Campaign and organised by Summit Entertainment, reports MTV News.

The foundation's director of communications Glenda Luft told the network: "Bidding was definitely intense! The package was hovering at $47,000 for a few days and then at $67,000, but we were so thrilled to see it jump to $80,000 in the very last moments of the auction.

"Summit included the incredibly rare opportunity to visit the set of Twilight: Breaking Dawn in Vancouver for four people total, with hotel accommodations at a deluxe executive suite at the elite Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver and VIP limousine service to and from the Breaking Dawn set. As if that wasn't enough, Summit also promised the winner an opportunity to meet Robert Pattinson on set!"

Luft added that the opportunity did come with rules.

"The fans will need to be on their best behaviour, as there is a strict conduct code to act in a responsible and appropriate manner at all times during the experience," she said.

What Is So Stylish About Them?

'Twilight' stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been in discussion throughout this year.
The vampire-human love story has been ruling all hearts through all the three movies of the 'Twilight' franchise. They have been termed cute, hot and happening as a couple and the latest addition has come from a popular celebrity news magazine 'InStyle'. The magazine has termed the couple as the 'Most Stylish Couple'.

Robert and Kristen have admitted being a 'couple' after denying it for a long time. Now, when they have become one of the hottest pairs in Hollywood, we can't deny their chemistry on-screen as well as off-screen. But, there is a big question about them being termed as the most stylist couple. We agree everyone likes to read about them and the gossips surrounding their relationship but there is hardly anything stylish about these two stars.

Robert and Kristen have reportedly left behind couples like Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis as well as Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. It is very surprising that Kristen, who is often seen very negligent about fashion, has been able to get the title along with Robert, who was reportedly stinking few days back for wearing same old clothes for days.

The editor of the magazine was in all praise for Pattinson's 'public-school boy style' but we have a doubt if he really has a style sense like other stars.

The second position in the list has gone to Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star while Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis were placed third.

Pattinson and Watson star together again

Actors Robert Pattinson and Emma Watson have reportedly been roped in to star in the remake of 2004 Dark Arc.

Dark Arc is a mysterious comedy about love, lust, art and the power of the "charged image". It tells the story of the eccentric love triangle between an artist, a graphic designer and their inspiring muse.

The film also reportedly stars actor Casey Affleck, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Pattinson and Watson have previously starred together in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

Pattinson 'jealous of Stewart's co-star'

Robert Pattinson is reportedly jealous of Kristen Stewart's friendship with his best friend Tom Sturridge.

Stewart and Sturridge are starring together in the new movie On The Road. The pair allegedly used to fight for Pattinson's attention but have now built up a friendship of their own.

An insider told In Touch Weekly: "Kristen was always jealous of all the time Tom and Rob spent together.

"But Rob intervened and helped make peace between the two - a move he may now regret."

The source added: "Kristen's telling friends that she's falling for Tom, as he has all of Rob's great qualities without the baggage - Rob's fear of commitment and the intense scrutiny their relationship brings."

Robert Pattinson to play Angelina Jolie's son?

Twilight star Robert Pattinson might be seen playing actress Angelina Jolie's son in a new movie. Jolie is said to be in talks to star in the new Clint Eastwood-directed movie Unforgiven. The movie is about a woman's attempt to rejoin society after she serves a 15-year prison stretch for the murder of two policemen. The tragedy happened after the policemen came to evict her family from their farmhouse, Deadline Hollywood reported.

Her hope is to live quietly and reunite with her troubled younger sister, but the paroled woman is targeted for a revenge campaign by two sons of one of her victims.

The project is being developed with Jolie in mind; but she has not committed to it yet.

According to sources, Pattinson is in talks to play one of Jolie's vengeful sons.

The 24-year-old actor had also recently gone to see the actress' new film, Salt, with his agent.

Robert Pattinson inspires underwear line

Marks & Spencer is to launch a line of underwear inspired by Robert Pattinson.

The slim-fit garments will be called the R-Pant, reports The Guardian.

The range of low-rise trunks and briefs are meant to be worn with skinny jeans like the kind worn by Pattinson.

The Twilight star will not appear in ad campaigns for the line nor has he endorsed it. However, Pattinson was recently spotted shopping at the retailer's stores.

Robert Pattinson needs 11 bodyguards

British actor Robert Pattinson needs 11 bodyguards to protect him from overexcited fans, says his "Twilight" co-star Kellan Lutz.

Pattinson, who shot to fame by playing Edward Cullen in the vampire franchise, is always hounded by fans and needs added protection, reports contactmusic.

"We've all stayed so down to earth, and it's just funny to see life change for the people around us, especially Rob (Pattinson). It's like, when a fan lunges at him and you only see one bodyguard around, and then 10 more jump out of the crowd, where they've been hiding," said Lutz.

"God, it's crazy to think about needing a bodyguard, but Rob can't take any chances. He's a heartthrob, but he's also a great guy and we all love him because he hasn't changed as a person," he added.

Screaming fans making Pattinson deaf

Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson is terrified his screaming fans will make him deaf.

The 23-year-old has revealed he already suffers serious hearing difficulties, which are being made worse by the shrieks of his obsessed female followers, reported thesun.co.uk.

"I'm almost completely deaf anyway. So I'm worried. I'm very worried," said Pattison

A hearing problem isn't the only physical damage fans have caused Robert.

Last year he was hit by a New York taxi as he ran from hordes of teens while filming new film "Remember Me". The accident happened despite being guarded by five bodyguards at the time.

'Twilight' wont help Pattinson

American director Allen Coulter admits he may not have hired Robert Pattinson for "Remember Me" if he had seen "Twilight".

The 23-year-old has won a legion of fans for his portrayal of Edward Cullen as a vampire in the franchise but Coulter says he probably wouldn't have given him the role alongside Pierce Brosnan because the blockbusters don't stretch him as an actor, reports Contactmusic.com.

"If I had seen 'Twilight', I might not have hired him. He is so limited by the kinds of traits he has to express. It's not that psychologically complex," said Coulter.

Coulter thinks the "Twilight" movies will not help Pattinson develop his screen skills.

However, Coulter is pleased he took a chance on Pattinson in the New York-based drama which focuses on a touching love story between Pattinson's emotionally adrift character and a fellow college student because it gives the young actor the chance to showcase his acting skills.

He is hopeful Pattinson's popularity will make the film a success.

I don't want a girlfriend

"I don't have a girlfriend. Neither do I wanna have a girlfriend any sooner, at least not when I'm in this kind of environment. I'm very unromantic, I just read or watch films. I am actually very boring, so I am okay single only, I guess," Pattinson said in an email interview.

He denies dating co-star Kristen Stewart.

"We are just very good friends. I did propose to her on the sets. She doubted my seriousness though and even I felt like it was too early. We used to spend some real fun moments together on the sets and I just went ahead and thought of taking it to another level. Well nothing as such worked out, but we still remained forever buddies," said.

Excerpts from the interview:

You have been iconized, doesn't that put you in a strange spot? Do girl fans ask you to give them your fangs treatment?
Well it does. I never thought it would be so big and still I can't believe it. I'm actually not ready to handle this big stardom, but I'm glad that I am learning it at such an early age. I've come across so many instances where the female fans ask me to bite them on the neck.

Not just this, I am amazed that these girl fans include not just young teenagers but females ranging from seven-eight years old to 60-70 years old, and you know what? They all talk the same way and demand the same thing, a bite on their neck! It's so strange and weird. But my answer is the same, 'Look I can't do it, it might hurt you.'

Any danger of being typecast in the blood sucker's role?
Yes, I feel a danger of being typecast in this role, but am sure my other films will break any such notion of people and industry. I'm happy that I've immediate projects to make a mark and prove myself as a versatile actor.

You started as a model. And you've said you looked androgynous. Did you get unwanted male attention?
No, I'm happy that no such thing happened and even if it would have, I would have handled it well as I'm pretty 'straight'.

How do you deal with uncontrollable female following? And how does your girlfriend deal with them?
I try and stay cool and behave as a normal person, which still I think I am. I don't have a girlfriend so I need not worry. Neither do I wanna have a girlfriend any sooner, at least not when I'm in this kind of environment. I'm very unromantic you know, I just read or watch films. I'm actually very boring, so I'm okay single only, I guess.

What about Kristen Stewart?
We are just very good friends. I did propose to her on the sets. She doubted my seriousness though and even I felt like it was too early. I don't know how it happened. Actually, we used to spend some real fun moments together on the sets and I just went ahead and thought of taking it to another level. Well nothing as such worked out but we still remained forever buddies.

Then one day we read in some gossip magazine of our affair followed by all the media making a hue and cry about it. I admit to my proposal; so why would I hide our relationship? So once again I take a chance to deny any such relation with Kristen.

Will you be associated with the "Twilight" series in the future? What are you doing next?
Yes, I'm still a part of "Twilight" franchise and our next in this series is "Eclipse". My future projects are "Remember Me", "Breaking Dawn", "Bel Ami" and "Unbound Captives" with Rachel Weiss and Hugh Jackman.

You're so young and so successful. How do you handle the money and the fame?
Thanks for the compliment. I feel encouraged and proud of my decision of acting instead of pursuing music. Well I don't know how I handle it. It's just happening and I'm still learning. Money and fame are also a part of my normal routine and I try to manage it simply without any airs in my mind. Look, I'm an artist first.
