Sylvester Stallone mourns death of son in suspected drugs overdose

SYLVESTER STALLONE was last night ‘’devastated and grief-stricken” by his son’s sudden death from a suspected drugs overdose.

Sage Stallone was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment – with reports suggesting that prescription pills were found at the scene.

It is understood the actor did not leave a suicide note, leading police to believe he killed himself accidentally.
Last night, Rocky star Sly, 66 – who co-starred with Sage in Rocky V – was struggling to come to terms with the news.

His spokesman Michelle Bega said: “Sylvester is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son.

“His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother Sasha. He was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever.”

Emergency services were called to the 36-year-old actor’s home at 3pm on Friday. Medics tried to revive him for 25 minutes but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A postmortem will be held in the next 24 hours.

Police said they found Sage – who was one of two sons from Sly’s marriage to Sasha Czack – while responding to a “welfare check”.

But Sage’s lawyer George Braunstein claimed he was found by a housekeeper who then made the 911 call.
The lawyer added: “I think it was probably some sort of accident. He was in good spirits, working on all kinds of projects.” Source:http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk

Stuntman dies on Stallone film shoot in Bulgaria

LOS ANGELES: A stuntman has died and another was injured on a film shoot for star-studded Hollywood action sequel "The Expendables 2" in Bulgaria, the production company said.

The incident occurred while the two men were shooting a scene involving an explosion in a rubber boat near a dam on Lake Ognyanovo in southwestern Bulgaria last Thursday, media reports said.

The accident "resulted in one fatality and one injury," said a spokesman for the production, while the Sofia Echo English-language newspaper said the injured man underwent five hours of surgery.

The main production unit for the movie, written by Sylvester Stallone, was shooting in the mountain resort village of Bansko, two and a half hours away, said the spokesman.

"It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident," added a statement by producers Image/Millennium Films. "Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy.

"The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident," it added, giving no further details of the incident.

"The Expendables 2," starring "Rocky" actor Stallone as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme, is a follow-up to the 2010 action blockbuster.

The sequel is due for release in August next year. (AFP)

Stallone and Schwarzenegger in film stand off

Hollywood's screen rivals --Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are likely to clash over the title of the next Rambo movie. The script for the latest installment in the action series is complete and has been named as Rambo: The Last Stand.

And the former Californian governor, who is set to make his action return in the similarly titled Last Stand is likely to have a clash over the same title, reported Sun online. The Terminator star announced the movie in April and now Rambo screenwriter Sean Hood has revealed the script for the fifth movie is complete, although Stallone is yet to commit.

"I recently finished a first draft of Rambo: Last Stand for Millennium films, based on a story idea by Sylvester Stallone. Hopefully, Stallone will eventually have the time and the inclination to do another Rambo. I met with Stallone twice last year. He gave me a book, an older screenplay, and about twenty pages he'd written himself to use as inspiration for the last chapter of the Rambo saga. It's more in line with the small-town thriller of First Blood," said Hood.

Before embarking on their respective shoots, the aging action heroes will be working together on the sequel to last year's hit movie The Expendables.
