Ryan Seacrest Show played it on his show yesterday. Seacrest even sat down with the pint sized, soon-to-be star to discuss the song. For those of you that don’t know, Willow is not just Will Smith’s daughter but she is also the sister of Jaden Smith AKA the Karate Kid.
Jay-Z, the rapper/business man mogul, has signed little Willow to his label, Roc Nation. He helped catapult the musical career of another really popular artist, Rihanna, who many people compare Willow to.
Jay-Z was immediately impressed by the young warbler upon meeting her. Mentioning how nervous she was to meet him, he stated that her honesty and forthrightness was awfully mature and the things that superstars are made of.
According to Willow, the “Whip My Hair” song is a bit of an independence anthem. It’s about not being afraid to be oneself. Guys, listen to the song if you have a chance, it’s really good, especially for a nine year old.
