Brad Pitt ready to act in a Bollywood film

MUMBAI: Hollywood's reigning star Brad Pitt missed the opportunity of romancing Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai in "Troy", but with the growing presence of Indian films on the world stage, he says he might just decide to surprise fans by grooving in true Bollywood style any time.

"Indian cinema seems to be growing very well at its own pace. I would love to work in a Bollywood film as there is so much drama and colour in the films there," Pitt told IANS in an email interview.

"The filmmaking, I hear, has evolved a lot in India and of late we have witnessed some good films making a presence at the Oscars and the world stage," added the actor.

The presence of Indian films and their artists has witnessed a boost in the western world in recent times. International premieres, opportunities for actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, as well as A.R.Rahman's Oscar-winning feat for " Slumdog Millionaire" have drawn international interest in India's cinematic offerings.

"That tells you a lot about the quality of the actors and the films. You never know when I might decide to work in a Bollywood film and do one of those dance numbers with the whole crew in the backdrop," quipped Pitt, who shot in the country for 2007 movie "A Mighty Heart".

The 48-year-old actor, who has been named among the sexiest men in the world multiple times, is especially fond of former Miss World Aishwarya. He says he is open to work with her.
"Given a chance, I would like to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan because she's a versatile actor. She has worked brilliantly in films like 'The Mistress of Spices', 'The Last Legion', 'The Pink Panther 2' and 'Provoked' to name a few," said Pitt.

"She is one of the most popular actresses of Bollywood, who has achieved huge acclaim in the west for her style, beauty and acting skills. I think we missed an opportunity to be cast together for the movie 'Troy'," he added.

Aishwarya was reportedly offered to essay the historical part of Briseis, but she turned down the offer by director Wolfgang Petersen. "Troy", released in 2007, continues to be one of Pitt's best performances till date.

Meanwhile, Pitt has finally decided to enter wedlock with his lady love Angelina Jolie, with whom he makes up the popular 'Brangelina' brand. The couple have six children. Though his wedding date is yet to be fixed, the actor has wished India's 'Saifeena' - Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor - all the best for their D-day next month.

"To be honest, I really think Saif and Kareena can be called Bollywood's sexiest couple so far. I am glad to know they are getting married soon. I wish them all the success for a happy married life," he said,

Pitt is currently eager for the release of gangster movie "Killing Them Softly", set to hit the screens Oct 5.

" 'Killing Them Softly' has a political agenda - one that it isn't too keen on hiding. It is an adaptation of a George V. Higgins novel about two low lives who make the unwise decision to rob a mob-funded card game and the hitman tasked with taking them down," he said about the movie.

'Brangelina' ring designer sues blogger Hilton

LOS ANGELES: The jeweler who designed Angelina Jolie's engagement ring from Brad Pitt is suing celebrity blogger Perez Hilton for libel over allegations of fraud, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday.

Robert Procop filed the suit in Los Angeles over a posting he says wrongly accused him of criminal and civil fraud over a 1985 diamond necklace transaction. He is seeking more than $500,000 in damages.

Hollywood's hottest couple made it official last month after Pitt proposed to Jolie, with whom he has been for six years. The couple have six children, three of them adopted.

Hilton's April 17 posting stated that Procop had not only been sued for fraud, but that an $89,000 judgment had been handed down against him, according to the lawsuit filed at the LA Superior Court.

It also stated that the buyer thought he was getting a 25.5-carat necklace, but in reality it was only 17.62 carats, the suit says.

"The statements that (Procop) was guilty of fraud in connection with a jewelry transaction and that the court in the fraud action had entered a judgment against plaintiff are false," the suit said.

Procop said the claim harmed his reputation, adding that Hilton refused to retract the posting. "As a world-renowned jewelry designer and jeweler, (his) reputation for honesty is of critical importance to his business," it said.

A spokesman for Hilton was not immediately available for comment.

Procop designed Jolie's engagement ring in collaboration with Pitt. The famous Beverly Hills jeweler, who has designed an entire collection inspired by Jolie, worked on the ring for a year.

The April 13 news that Pitt and Jolie - known collectively to fans as "Brangelina" - were engaged put an end to months of speculation about the couple and their plans to marry.

Jolie had stoked the media firestorm when she told ABC News in December that "the kids asked me the other day, and I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake."

Brangelina' to be officially married

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood's hottest couple has made it official, with Brad Pitt proposing to Angelina Jolie after six children and years of unwedded bliss, a spokeswoman said Friday.

"Yes, it's confirmed," Pitt's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante told People magazine. "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy."

She said no date was set at this time, and there was no word of the wedding's location.

The news put an end to months of speculation about the couple and their plans to marry.

Jeweler Robert Procop designed Jolie's engagement ring in collaboration with Pitt, and confirmed the news.

The famous Beverly Hills jeweler, who has designed an entire collection inspired by Jolie, worked on the ring for a year.

Pitt "wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina's hand," the jeweler said in a statement.

"Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution... The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."

Pitt, 48, and Jolie, 36, became close on the set of 2005 film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." They have three biological children together and adopted three others, and Pitt apparently caved after pressure from the kids.

"We'd actually like to," Pitt said of making Jolie his wife, "and it seems to mean more and more to our kids."

"We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can," he added in a January interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in a reference to the legalization of gay marriage.

"But I don't think we'll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment."

Jolie had also stoked the media firestorm when she told ABC News in December that "the kids asked me the other day, and I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake."

"I explained to them that our commitment, when we decided to start a family, is the greatest commitment you can possible have. Once you have six children, you're committed," she added.

Last year was very busy for Jolie, with the release of "In the Land of Blood and Honey," a Bosnian War tell that marked her directorial debut.

And Pitt has taken a pause from the frenetic pace of his film career to spend a bit more time with Jolie and their children.

"It's family first. This year, I needed to spend more time with my family so I spent more quiet time developing stuff," he said in February. (AFP)

"They were overjoyed at how quickly Angie became pregnant this time," says a confidante

Brad Pitt set to quit acting at 50

SYDNEY: Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt has revealed he plans to quit acting in three years, but the 47-year-old admitted he is not sure what he will do after ditching a career which made him a household name.

During an interview with an Australian current affairs show in Tokyo to promote his latest movie "Moneyball", the American actor was asked how much longer he would like to "do your business for".

"Three years," he said.

When the reporter pressed him on what would happen then, he replied: "Hell if I know. I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together."

Pitt also revealed that he and partner Angelina Jolie were open to expanding their brood of six children, in the interview screened on Australia's "60 Minutes".

"You know, I don't know that we're finished. I don't know yet," Pitt said, adding that he enjoyed the chaos of having children around despite the lack of sleep this entailed.

"I mean, because those late nights are so fun when one of them's up or those mornings when they get up and make pancakes or something. That's what it's about."

Pitt said his family with Jolie had changed his career, and influenced the kinds of films he wanted to make.

"If I'm choosing a film now, I want it to be maybe less immature than things I have done in the past," he said.

"I'm very conscious, when they're adults I want it to mean something to them. I want them to think, 'Dad's alright'. It changes everything. Everything."

The actor, who rose to prominence in 1991's "Thelma and Louise" and went on to star in "Ocean's Eleven" and "Fight Club", said he had not dealt well with fame in the past and was worried about media attention on his children.

"Sure I worry. It's the only thing I get hot about, I'm ready to fight about," he said.

"But on the other hand you know, it's a trade-off, like anything.

"And we, these guys, I'm so happy for them, because they get to see the world. And their lives are so enriched by it. The privacy issues are something we're always battling."

The actor, who has received critical acclaim for "Moneyball", said he was content with life.

"I think happiness is overrated, truthfully. I do. I think sometimes you're happy, sometimes you're not. There's too much pressure to be happy," he said.

"Satisfied, at peace, those would be more goals for myself." (AFP)

Brangelina visit Japan to promote 'Moneyball'

TOKYO: Actor Brad Pitt praised the "tenacity" of Japan in its post-quake recovery efforts Thursday, as the star brought his partner Angelina Jolie and family to a nation still confronting a nuclear crisis.

"You are bringing everything forward to rebuilding and reclaiming the lives for yourselves and for others. It's valued and inspiring to us," Pitt told a news conference ahead of the Japan release of his new movie "Moneyball."

"Your tenacity and perseverance and survival has a great effect on us, to the world community, and I applaud you all for that," he said.

Pitt's visit to Japan, together with Jolie and their six children comes nearly eight months after a 9.0 magnitude earthquake triggered a devastating tsunami that left 20,000 dead or missing, while sparking the worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl 25 years ago.

In the film directed by Bennett Miller, Pitt plays the Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane who turns to a statistician with a radical new system to evaluate players and put together a competitive team at a quarter of the cost.

I love cinema and I'm still watching films I was watching 20 years ago. Making films that stand, that's the goal," Pitt said. The actor who stars in new baseball movie Moneyball also said, although, he doesn't know much about the sport but loves playing games with his sons."I know very little about baseball besides the fact I took one in the face when I was in junior high. The Hollywood couple - who have six children, Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - have decided to put the sprawling property, which has views of the Pacific Ocean, up for sale after making huge renovations to it.

The home is split in two, and despite the huge asking price it only has four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

It also features a swimming pool, a tennis court, expansive gardens and a walk in fridge and freezer.

The couple added an extra floor to the house designed by Christopher R. Sorenson and created a heated lap pool in recent years.

It is one of a number of homes owned by the pair - who are currently in Scotland while Brad shoots zombie movie World War Z - with a town house in the French Quarter of New Orleans and an estate in the Valpolicella region of Northern Italy also in their portfolio.

Brad purchase the 1962-built property after his split from Jennifer Aniston in 2005, and briefly put it up for sale in 2009 for $18 million, but it failed to sell.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie to get married?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly getting married.

Three separate sources have confirmed that the couple will exchange vows within the next few months, according to Us Weekly.

However, the magazine writes that the nuptials will not be an extravagant affair.

"[The wedding] would be intimate and informal," said an insider.

One potential location for the ceremony is the couple's newly-renovated Chateau Miraval in Correns, France, which features a 16th-century chapel.

In May, Pitt revealed that he is considering marrying Jolie as the pair's six children have said that they would like them to wed.

The two actors have said in the past that they would not wed until everyone, whether gay or straight, could marry.

Pitt recently praised the decision to pass New York's Marriage Equality Act, saying that he hopes the rest of the US chooses to follow suit in the future.

Neither Pitt nor Jolie's reps have responded to comment on the marriage claims.

The couple, who raise six children together, allegedly have very specific requirements for a full-time carer for their kids.

Pitt and Jolie are said to be looking for a nanny who has a degree in education or child development and speaks at least two languages, as well as the native tongues of their children.

An insider told The Sun: "It's a coveted position. Brad and Angelina's requirements are justified - they only want the best for their kids. The pay packet and lifestyle make it a pretty amazing deal.

"Not only have Brad and Angelina got to be able to trust the nanny completely with the kids but the new carer must also respect the family's privacy."

Pitt's parents Bill and Jane recently moved into the family's Chateau Miraval estate in France to help the couple raise their large brood.

A source commented: "The whole family is going to move there as soon as the renovations are done. At the moment they have six nannies - one for each of the kids - and the plan is to get rid of the helpers and rely on Bill and Jane.

"The annex they will live in is an old building which used to be used as a dovecote. It's big enough to have a sitting room, kitchen and a couple of bedrooms. It will make a lovely little cottage for them."

Recent rumours have suggested that the pair are planning to adopt another child.

Brad Pitt’s Women rank first and second in “Beauty Icon of the Decade” Poll

Brad Pitt must be the happiest man in the world since his current wife Angelina Jolie and ex-wife Jennifer Aniston hold the two top positions on the “Beauty Icon of the Decade” Poll conducted by Superdrug.

Top 20 beauty icons of the decade

1.Angelina Jolie  2.Jennifer Aniston  3.Kylie Minogue  4.Catherine Zeta Jones  5.Cheryl Cole
6.Scarlett Johansson  7.Keira Knightly  8.Beyonce Knowles  9.Liv Tyler  10.Halle Berry
11.Kate Winslet  12.Myleene Klass  13.Kelly Brook  14.Nigella Lawson  15.Kate Beckinsale
16.Megan Fox  17.Eva Longoria  18.Joanna Lumley  19.Holly Willoughby  20.Charlize Theron

According to a recent piece in the Telegraph, a new poll acknowledges all that and names Angelina Beauty Icon of the Decade. Angelina Jolie is a beautiful woman, even if her beauty is what many call “unconventional.” However, what the actress has brought new to the table is an attitude that made her stand apart from all the other women in showbiz, thus building for herself a larger than life persona that continues to fascinate fans and even get them into bitter disputes.
The poll, conducted by Superdrug, included answers from 3,000 respondents, the majority of them also saying that it’s Jolie’s “strong character” that entitles her to the distinction. Jennifer Aniston, ironically enough, Brad Pitt’s ex before becoming an item with Jolie, comes in second, followed by Kylie Minogue, Catherine Zeta Jones and Cheryl Cole. Still, it’s diversity of all kinds that makes this poll different from others of its kind, Steve Jebson, commercial director for Superdrug, notes for The Telegraph.
“Angelina Jolie is not a conventional beauty but her strong character shines through her fabulous features to give her a unique standing in the beauty world. It’s worth noting that while everyone talks about Angelina’s pout we find that its her long thick lustrous hair that really makes British women envious, as well as a figure made for red carpet posturing,” Jebson explains.

“This is the third time we have run an annual poll to find the face of the year, with previous winners including Cheryl Cole and Keira Knightley. This year to celebrate the new decade we decided to look past the face du jour and see who has really struck a beauty chord. But the message from our stores for 2010 is you don’t have to be a film star or celebrity to be a beauty icon,” a spokesperson for Superdrug adds.
Beyonce, Liv Tyler, Megan Fox, Kate Beckinsale, Joanna Lumley, Halle Berry, Myleene Klass and, of course, Scarlett Johansson have also been voted as gorgeous women who have shaped this decade in terms of beauty trends.

Pitt is wonderful father

Angelina Jolie has called longterm partner Brad Pitt a "wonderful father".

"He was just a wonderful father," Jolie commented.

She added of the children's visits to the set: "They played with fake blood, and they found mummy very strange in her different hair."

The star credited Pitt with helping to keep their large family happy.

"Brad is the word that makes it possible," she said.

The Hollywood couple recently accepted undisclosed damages over a privacy claim against a UK tabloid that reported that they were splitting up.

Oil Spill Star?

He’s always had a huge place in his heart for New Orleans, and now that the Big Easy is threatened by the BP Oil Spill, Brad Pitt may be working on a film about the disaster.

The “Fight Club” stud has been rumored to be talking with film execs about a possible project, though the tragedy is still without a stand-out hero.

In addition, Pitt has his eye on the forthcoming sequel to the massively successful “Sherlock Holmes” film.

Despite the fact that director Guy Ritchie seems set on casting Daniel Day Lewis in the role of Professor Moriarty, Brad thinks he’d be a good pick for the part.
