Dressed to Kill: Kangna to share Lady Gaga's darzi

Kangna Ranaut, who is all set to play a mutant in the Krrish sequel, has to lose five kilos to get into her costume. We give you a sneak peak of what her character will look like in the visual-effects laden superhero flick.

It has been learnt that Kangna's designer Gavin Miguel has sourced a plastic-like material from the US for her character's costume.

"One of the teams sourced to make the outfit for her in Krissh also stitches Lady Gaga's costumes, " reveals our source.

Giving further details about her costume, the source says, "Considering the kind of material it's made from, Kangna will have to apply special oil on herself to be able to wear it."

Perhaps she should take some tips from SRK on staying in such costumes for long hours, as he did for RA.One.

Our source adds that director Rakesh Roshan wants to make sure people forget Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider when Kangna makes her entry in the movie. Kangna's character is a mutant said to be inspired by Mystique from the X Men series.

When contacted, Gavin maintained that they're still in the process of finalising the costume, so that it looks "more like a second skin."

He asserts, "Since it's a completely body-hugging costume, we require a fabric that stretches and fits perfectly. Hence a lubricant-based oil has to be applied on the body before getting into it. We're still in the testing stages because the costume should not be suffocating."

The designer says that they're also figuring out a way to make the actress avoid wearing the costume all day. "We're trying to work out a design that is easy for her to get into and get out of, " he points out.

The designer and his team have a month to finalise the costume as Kangna still has a month before she starts shooting for the film. "So far, they're happy with the way the look is coming up. Since it's a challenging assignment, I hope it becomes an iconic look in Bollywood, " Gavin signs off.

Kangna gets a makeover in Tanu Weds Manu

Bollywood actress Kangna Ranaut is going to start the new year with a fresh new avatar in the forthcoming release 'Tanu Weds Manu'. Shedding her neurotic image, Ranaut will be seen in a bubbly and lively character in the movie.

The 23-year-old actress plays the role of Tanu, a small town girl having a zest for life. Always seen playing neurotic and depressed roles, the 'Gangster' actress will offer a new look for the audience in the movie opposite actor R. Madhavan.

"Yes Kangna plays a small town, wild girl. She is shown as a very bindaas character, and it is a role that Kangna has never portrayed before. Kangna was amazing at the way she pulled off the character of Tanu," said Director Anand Rai.

Kangna has managed to grab eyeballs during the promos of the movie with her free spirited look.

Mallika refuses to share her 'Sexy' tag with Kangna Ranaut

Mallika Sherawat resents her Dhamaal 2 co-star Kangna Ranaut and she isn't hiding it. And it's because Kangs is being tagged as having a 'sexy' role in the comic flick. Mallika feels the term belongs exclusively to her.

Says a source from the unit, "Mallika conveyed her displeasure to the producer and director. She plays Sanju's hot businesswoman wife while Kangna plays his sexy secretary.

Ms Sherawat doesn't want to share the attention the guys on the sets shower on her. So right from day one, she went out of her way to be coquettish to the actors in the film - Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Ashish Choudhry and Javed Jaaffery."

Adds the source, "Though this is just the first schedule, the two lead actresses are already not on talking terms." While Mallika would chat nineteen to the dozen with the rest of the cast during breaks, she gave Kangna the cold shoulder. Soon enough, Kangs got the drift and kept away.

The source further feels that Sherawat might not be deliberately ignoring her co-star, "She behaves like a diva. Especially now that she's been staying in Los Angeles for a year and has done a Hollywood film.

But Kangna has made her peace and ignores Malli as well. She feels the 'diva' and she are from two different places -- and if Mallika doesn't want to talk to her, she won't make that extra effort."

Ranaut and Basu 'no longer friends'

Kangna Ranaut has allegedly fallen out with director Anurag Basu.

The actress has worked with Basu on a number of projects, including Life In A Metro and Gangster.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Ranaut is unhappy with the type of roles she is being asked to play in the director's films.

"Ranaut still cares for Basu. But he has been really unfair to her. You don't consider people as your lucky mascot, but in return give them a raw deal," a source claimed.

"There is much more to Ranaut than playing only demented females. She has it in her to display a gamut of emotions."

The star is also reported to have felt disappointed with the editing of Kites, which left her with minimal screen time.

Kangna Ranaut returns to work after injury

Kangna Ranaut has returned to filming Tanu Weds Manu after recovering from her fractured ankle.

The actress, 23, was injured in March when she fell off a motorbike she had been riding for a scene in the film.

Shooting was subsequently put on hold for Tanu Weds Manu and dubbing for Once Upon A Time In Mumbai was delayed.

"She has now fully recovered and back at work. Kangna has a long schedule in Punjab for Tanu Weds Manu," Ranaut's spokesperson told Mid Day.

"She has completed the dubbing now. Kangna also shot for her other project Game recently on their Greece outdoor. Her injury has fully healed."

Tanu Weds Manu, which is being directed by Anand L Rai, also stars Madhavan.
