Sonakshi Sinha 'finds ally in Sarah Palin'

Sonakshi Sinha has reportedly been praised by Sarah Palin after the two spoke at the same event.

The actress, who recently signed up for a Bollywood remake of Hannibal, was a recent speaker at a conference in New Delhi, DNA reports.

A source said: "Sarah seemed impressed by Sonakshi. Both ladies chatted about women's empowerment and how it can change the world."

Although Sinha has only appeared in one film, Dabanng, she has become a popular figure in Indian celebrity culture.

"Though Sarah admitted that she hadn't watched her film, she was reportedly taken by surprise at the actress's popularity," the source continued. "Sonakshi too added that she wants to do her bit in creating awareness amongst the masses."

Sonakshi gets into Katrina's bath-tub

It is her first television ad campaign. And Sonakshi Sinha riding high after the Dabangg and the slew of awards last year, has bagged the coveted campaign as the brand ambassador for Dyna soap. The soap was earlier endorsed by Katrina Kaif. Coincidentally both the divas are Salman Khan’s protégées.

So you would think there would be tension between the two divas, specially since Sonakshi is doing a spate of Salman films. But no such thing!

The two ladies get along very well, thank you. Sonakshi is full of admiration for her senior and thinks Katrina conducts herself in the entertainment industry with great dignity.

She doesn’t think she has replaced Katrina in the soap ad.

Says the sprightly softspoken Sonakshi, “Katrina had done the Dyna campaign many years back and they haven't had a brand ambassador after her. So like every brand and celebrity move on, so have Dyna and Katrina. She has moved to Lux. I’ve come into Dyna, Simple!:”

Sonakshi is glad to be successor to Katrina in the ad. “Not every newcomer gets to represent one of the highest-selling soaps in the country."

What was it like shooting the campaign specially since it required Sonakshi to get into a bath tub?

Says Sonakshi, "It was good fun. The team was excellent the shoot went off smoothly.I wasn't the least selfconscious about the way it was shot. It's a very aesthetically shot ad. It was completely in my comfort zone."

Interestingly both Katrina and Sonakshi are very particular about appearing dignified on screen.

As Sonakshi puts it. “Just getting into a bath-tub doesn’t mean one has to be unaesthetic.”

Sonakshi scores over Kat in Joker

It is fashionable to take Katrina Kaif's name with or without good reason. Since she is the most desirable woman is Bollywood, most heroines have a bee in their bonnet about her.

Check this out. Unknown to the junta, there is a lot of in-fighting happening in the studio corridors; with the Bollywood beauties fighting for their share of the meat.

News has it that Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi will do an item number in Shirish Kunder's Joker, but it hardly means that all is well between these two Salman favourites.

It is said that Kat was reportedly fielding for director Prabhu Devaa's film with Akshay Kumar. And, even before the most desirable woman in B-town could fire her last salvo, the Wanted director signed young Sonakshi.

Sonakshi, of course, is not even aware that Kat or any other heroine was in the race for this Sanjay Leela Bhansali production. Says she, "It will be an awesome experience working with varied people like Akshay, Prabhu Sir and Mr Bhansali (the producer) in the same film. I love the subject and I'm sure I will enjoy the experience of shooting this film.''

One also hears that Katrina and Sonakshi are both vying for Sohail Khan's South-Indian remake opposite Salman Khan, that is likely to go on the floors after Salman completes Bodyguard. Let's see who Salman favours this time around?

There is a strong buzz that Katrina Kaif has teamed up for the first time with Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Chopra's next directorial venture that will go on the floors in April 2011.

"Quite shocked to see India Today carrying an article on me appearing on Maxim in a bikini!! Yeah right," Sonakshi wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

A photograph published on India Today's website shows Sonakshi wearing a white bikini but the magazine's cover shows her wearing a black dress.

"These guys generally have their facts and figures right! Got the fact that I'm on Maxim right, but the figure (pun intended) completely wrong! Would've been smart if they checked out the magazine before writing whatever they felt like. It's not about me anymore but about their credibility," she added.

Arora angry over Sonakshi’s performance on ‘Munni Badnam Hui’

Sonakshi Sinha performed on the song, 'Munni Badnam Hui' from the film 'Dabangg' at the recently held Sahara India Sports Awards 2010 and the very fact did not go well with the main performer Malaika Arora Khan.

Ever since the film hit the theatre and the song tops the chartbuster, Malaika has been performing on the popular track during all the events. But when Sonakshi performed the song at the Sahara awards with the same thrill, she was bit upset.

This was Sonakshi's first stage performance and so everyone applauded her. According to Malaika, Sonakshi could have performed on some other tracks rather than her's. However, the organizer did not approach Malaika for this event.

The award ceremony will see many top-notch actors performing on some chartbusters and Shahrukh Khan will be hosting the show.

Sinha: 'Paparazzi caused crowd trouble'

Sonakshi Sinha has blamed the paparazzi for wreaking havoc at a charity event commemorating the lives of those killed in the Mumbai terrorist attacks.

The Dabanng actress was apparently chased by fans who tried to get up close to the actress, before she was led away in tears.

She clarified on Twitter: "It was conveniently omitted that the 'miscreants' happened to be mediapersons and their cameramen!"

Sinha described the paparazzi as "creating a ruckus, completely disrespecting speakers on stage, falling over, whacking each other. It was an unacceptable behaviour".

The 23-year old recently made her acting debut in the blockbuster, which co-stars her old family friend Salman Khan.

Sonakshi-Akshay To Star In India's First 3D Film 'Joker'

It is finally official. After much speculation as to who will be the female lead of the upcoming 3D film Joker (Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha being the chief contenders), it is the Dabangg girl who has finally struck the chord with filmmaker Sirish Kunder.

Touted as the first 3D project in Bollywood, Joker has already generated a lot of buzz not only for its content but also for the lead pair of Akshay and Sonakshi. Director Sirish Kunder was searching for a fresh pair for his upcoming movie and the Akshay Kumar - Sonakshi Sinha jodi looked perfect, the director stressing on the fact that Sonakshi also completely fits into the character as the female lead opposite Akshay's character.

Though titled Joker, the Akshay Kumar - Sonakshi Sinha starrer does not tell the story of a joker in a circus. Neither is it the story of a superhero, as was perceived by many after they heard that the film was to be made in 3D. Akshay Kumar is not prepared to reveal details on the plot yet and we as audience will also have to wait till next year to catch a glimpse of Joker.

All that can be said now is that Sonakshi Sinha is gradually getting a good grasp in Bollywood. After having worked with Salman Khan in her debut film, Akshay Kumar as co-star in the second film itself is something that many actresses will die for. The Dabangg girl too accepts the fact, promising to improve with each film. Joker hits the screens on Christmas next year.

Sonakshi Sinha stumbles on ramp

The Rajo of 'Dabangg' stumbled on ramp as soon as she walked out to showcase the collection of designer Gavin C Miguel latest collection.

However, the latest hot babe of Bollywood quickly walked back and didn't come to ramp again with Gavin C Miguel as she usually did.

It is still unclear how she fell on ramp but the incident was really awkward for Sonakshi.

Sonakshi has been centre of attraction in all the fashion shows after the blockbuster of her debutant film Dabangg along with Salman Khan.

Sonakshi in for Joker; Kat, Dip out

Akshay Kumar can score another goal. It is likely that the romance of Bollywood’s hottest young chicken Sonakshi Sinha in Shirish Kunder’s Joker. Sonakshi actions is ranked Dabangg place.

Be seen in Sajid Nadiadwala Salman Khan face back again, and is in talks with Ramesh Tauran for the race-2 with Saif Ali Khan. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.

It is now known that Farah Khan and Shirish, Joker Sonakshi have an interest in his film. A business consultant, said “Sonakshi was largely accepted in the film.

However, they are still working on details such as price and dates.” Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is annoyed that some media have said it’s Joker. A source close to Deepika said, “Deepika did not even come close to Joker.

Not that she is not willing to work with Akshay, Farah and Shirish. But she is concerned about the information, since none of them approached her.

During the shoot of Farah Khan’s film Tees Maar Khan, the idea of another film sprouted. Farah’s editor-husband planned Joker with Akshay Kumar in the lead, which the star will also co-produce. But here is the real problem? Who will play the female lead. Salman Khan has started pushing Sonakshi Sinha’s name.

The buzz has it that both Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone are in the running for the role. If Kat has expressed her desire to be in the film to Akki, Deepika is the natural choice. The new twist is that Sallu is recommending Sonakshi; the starlet is the new ‘it’ thing in Bollywood and is already there for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick due to Sallu’s reference.
