Taylor Swift: 'I won't undress for career'

Taylor Swift has insisted that she will never undress to advance her career.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the singer revealed that she feels uncomfortable with the industry expectation for female stars to wear revealing clothing during photoshoots and public appearances.

"It's just a life decision. I like wearing pretty dresses and I like trying out new styles, but I don't feel comfortable taking my clothes off," she explained. "I wouldn't wear tiny amounts of clothing in my real life, so I don't think it's necessary to wear that stuff in photoshoots."

She also revealed that she prefers to be personally involved with her internet presences via her website and social networking pages in order to maintain a genuine connection with her fans.

"I spend a bit of time online every day but it's worth it because that's how [the fans and I] keep in touch. And what else am I doing? I'm jet-lagged every single day and awake at 4am," she said.

Swift has credited her fans with allowing her to find success as an artist and said that she "owes everything" to those who support her.

She recently joked that she would consider hairdressing as a job should her music career not pan out.

Taylor Swift Rocks Out On Italian X-Factor

Taking her sweet sounds overseas, Taylor Swift made an appearance on the Italian “X Factor” show on Monday night (October 4).

The “Should’ve Said No” singer traded in her Taylor acoustic guitar for an electric axe as she rocked the crowd in a leggy dress with knee-high boots.

Taylor is gearing up for the release of her new album Speak Now, and she says the record is a window into her personal life as of late.

"My next album is something I'm really proud of. I can only write about what I've been through. And a lot has happened in the past two years."

"Everything that happens to me gets put into a song. For some reason, I'm really comfortable talking about my personal life in songs. There, I don't hold back: names, dates, times, expressions on people's faces, exactly where we were and how it felt, what I wish I would have said to them in the moment."

Kanye West Believes That VMA’s Caused Career Downturn

Kanye West seems to continuously have diarrhea of the mouth as it concerns the entire West-Taylor fiasco. It seems that he can’t stop talking about it.

I’m for one am fed up with it and was hoping that that the 2010 VMAs would put an end to the entire thing. Unfortunately, it hasn’t.

West is once again talking about it, this time in the XXL magazine and in his own words. Kanye wrote the article himself. He again mentioned that his storming the stage was not personal and was not about race.

At this years VMAs, Kanye attempted to make things right by singing a song he wrote about the incident. It was all about jerks. However, he can’t seem to get over it and this is in part is because he feels like it has negatively affected career.

West stated that he threw “…a Molotov cocktail at my own career, and it gave me an opportunity, for the first time, to go away and find out who I was. Because I felt very alone.”

Personally, I believe that what’s killing West’s career is the fact that he keeps talking about what happened. Most people had basically forgotten about it or are at least are trying to forget about it. He just keeps bringing it back up. Leave it alone Kanye. You didn’t kill anyone. Forgive yourself. It really wasn’t a huge deal in the grand scheme of things!

West and Swift’s Odes To Each Other

Though some people claim that last night’s MTV Music Awards were a bit of a bore, there was one pretty interesting element to the event, Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s leftover beef from last year’s awards.

I probably don’t need to remind you that West grabbed the mic out of Swift’s hand and proclaimed how great Beyonce’s “Single Lady” video was, after Swift was given an award for best video last year. Well, West has been apologizing every since then.

He even recently went on Twitter rants about how sorry he was and how he had this great song that he either wanted Taylor to perform or which he would perform for her. It looks like last night, he went with the latter.

West sang/rapped a song in her honor toasting up all of the jerks in the world. Taylor gave her own ode. In it she basically forgave him and referred to him as an “innocent.” Both artists were well received.

There were cheers and standing ovations for everyone. Maybe now we can leave this thing firmly in the past where it belongs. I am so sick of it!

Taylor Swift Not Interested In Kanye’s Song

Recently, Kanye West took to Twitter to once again apologize to Taylor Swift about his ruining her day at the MTV Video Music Awards.

You probably remember the incident, Kanye jumped on stage after Swift was given her award for best video and insisted that the award should have gone to Beyonce instead.

Well, Taylor was obviously peeved and Kanye, after a while at least, embarrassed. He has been apologizing on and off since then.

Well, just a few days ago, he announced via Twitter that he had written a song for Taylor Swift as an act of penance. He stated that it was quite beautiful.

Acknowledging that perhaps Swift wouldn’t want to have anything to do with this new song, he offered to perform it for her if she refused to sing it herself. Swift, reportedly, has rebuffed West at least in private.

According to a record executive, there is no way that Taylor would sing a song by Kanye, Not only would that bring him attention but it would also line his pockets (make him money) and she isn’t interested in doing either.

Taylor Swift Opens Up About Speak Now

Her fans are chomping at the bit for the October release of her new album Speak Now, and Taylor Swift says it will be worth the wait.

The “Love Story” songstress told press that the songs on the album are intensely personal and written with family and friends in mind.

Swift explained, “These songs are made up of words I didn’t say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters.”

“Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person. You gotta give yourself time to live a lot of things so you can write about a lot of things.”

Sexy Songwriter

She’s no stranger to awards shindigs, on (June 17) Taylor Swift was spotted at the 2010 Songwriter’s Hall of Fame Ceremony.

The “Should’ve Said No” songstress looked amazing as she arrived at the New York City event, sporting a beautiful purple dress.

Once inside, Taylor was honored with the Hal David Starlight Award, given to up and coming songwriters.

John Mayer, who presented Taylor with her award, commented, “She’s no accident. You could put her in a time machine in any era and she would have a hit record. Don’t confuse everybody loving one thing as hype. Sometimes that’s everyone agreeing that it’s fabulous.”

BMI Pop Awards Winner

She’s no stranger to snazzy awards shindigs, and on (May 18) Taylor Swift was in the house for the 58th Annual BMI Pop Awards.

The “Should’ve Said No” songstress looked amazing as she meandered around the Beverly Wilshire Hotel with the likes of legendary singer/songwriter John Fogerty and various other guests.

And of course, Taylor ended up adding to her already-impressive collection of trophies by the time the night was over.

Miss Swift was honored with the Song of the Year award for her mega hit “Love Story,” a song she wrote herself.

Taylor Swift donates funds to flood relief

Taylor Swift has donated $500,000 (£341,318) to flood relief efforts in Nashville, TN.

Recent floods in the South have killed 30 people, including 20 in Tennessee.

According to The AP, repairs in the city are expected to cost more than $1m (£682,636).

"Being at home during the storm, I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly," Swift said.

She added: "Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love. I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis."

Taylor Swift Talks Loneliness

She’s one of the most popular singers in the world, but Taylor Swift says her fame has actually made her lonelier than ever.

The “Love Story” babe told press that she lacks close friends and has noticed she’s become a loner since her career blew up.

“In middle school and junior high, all my friends ditched me, so I was really lonely. I was doing different things at the weekend and I wasn’t part of the gang any more. I just wanted to play shows and I think it got really irritating to them.”

“It’s weird, I thought I’d have so many more friends now but I feel like I’m less popular than I’ve ever been. My best friend is Abigail and we’ve been friends since I was 15. I’ve never really been popular with the boys. I had my first boyfriend when I was 15 and we dated each other for about a year, then I was perpetually single after that.”

Taylor Swift finds ex boyfriend hot

They may not be dating any more but country singer Taylor Swift still thinks that Taylor Lautner is the most "hot" guy around.

When the 20-year-old singer was asked who she thinks is hot, she shyly replied: "Um, well, Taylor Lautner." The duo dated casually last year before calling it quits in late December, reports people.com.

Swift also shared the difficulties that come with her celebrity status.

"I've had countless opportunities to do some really bad things. And then people start combing through everything I do trying to find the next mistake and misperception, which leads to more scrutiny," she said.

She admitted that constant media spotlight creates extra challenges that she has no control over.

"Like, if I go to a bar, even if I'm not drinking, who's to say that a source isn't going to say that I was doing something I shouldn't have been doing? So it's not only about your own moral compass, but the moral compasses of other people that you don't know," she said.

A night of pure Grammy gold for Taylor

Grammy Awards are to the music world, what the Oscars are to filmdom. Not surprisingly, the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards held on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, saw a turnout befitting the much-awaited mega music event.

Adding glitz to the glam event were the biggies Jennifer Lopez, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Downey Jr, Jay Z, Sheryl Crowe, Lionel Richie, Hollywood heavyweight Nicole Kidman, who looked pleased and mighty proud of hubby Keith Urban as he picked a Grammy award for the Best Male Country vocal performance for Sweet Thing, Seal with Heidi Klum who looked ultra hot in a thigh-high mini-dress having shed all of her pregnancy weight, Ashanti, Kristen Bell, Adam Sandler, Ricky Martin, Wyclef Jean, Rihanna, Li’l Wayne, Miley Cyrus, Ringo Starr and Jonas Brothers among others. Katy Perry was seen flashing her engagement ring on the red carpet. Looking very Indian, the singer completed her look with a gold bindi. It was a proud moment for all Indians as AR Rahman once again scooped two Grammys for Slumdog Millionaire. It was an emotional moment for Paris Catherine and Prince Michael Jackson as they accepted an honorary Grammy for their late dad, the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, Usher, and Carrie Underwood even sang a tribute to Michael Jackson. Among the loads of wins and tears, spicing up the night were the performances by Taylor Swift, Slash, Jamie Foxx, Eminem, Mary J Blige, Green Day, The Black-Eyed-Peas, Bon Jovi, Elton John and the woman of the moment Beyonce. Pink’s gravity-defying performance was quite predictable, while Lady Gaga’s atrocious dress as always made more heads turn as did her music.

It was a night of pure Grammy gold for songstress Beyoncé, who picked up six wins, a record for a female artrist, including Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Contemporary R&B Album. Taylor Swift found it hard to balance her four Grammys, and she even ended up dropping one.

Taylor Swift felt rejected at school

Taylor Swift has revealed that she was unlucky in love with boys at school.

The ‘Love Story’ hitmaker, who admits her songs are laced with feelings of rejection from her days at high school in Nashville, Tennessee, said that she used to give her crushes advice on gifts for their girlfriends.

The singer, recently been linked to Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner, still remembers her bad luck with boys during her formative years.

"I used to say I had a condition called girl-next-door-itis. I'd always be really good friends with the guy and then he'd ask me what to get his girlfriend for Valentine's Day and I'd hide my feelings and smile and give him great ideas," Contactmusic quoted Swift as saying.
