Paris Hilton's bro ordered to pay 4.9M dollars over 2008 drunk driving crash

Socialite Paris Hilton's younger brother Barron has been ordered to pay 4.9 million dollars to a gas station attendant he supposedly rammed in 2008, shortly before he was arrested for drunk driving.

A jury ordered Barron, 21, to pay 3 million dollars for pain and suffering and 1.9 million dollars for lost earnings, medical expenses and punitive damages.

Victim Fernando Tellez sued the hotel heir claiming he was bent over a pump in February 2008 when Barron’s Mercedes-Benz ploughed into him, knocked him over and caused injuries that resulted in a limp, severe back pain and the disintegration of his marriage.

Barron was arrested shortly after the incident and pleaded no contest to driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.14, authorities said.

He denied he was behind the wheel when Tellez first filed his lawsuit, Tellez’s attorney Joseph M. Kar told the New York Daily News.

Hilton’s lawyers have indicated they will file a motion for a new trial.

I can never erase sex tape

Paris Hilton has recalled the "betrayal" she felt when a sex tape featuring herself and an ex-partner was made public.

The former Simple Life star spoke about the tape, featuring ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon, during an interview on Piers Morgan Tonight this week.

Hilton said: "I just felt so betrayed. This is not some random guy - this is someone I was with for a few years. I can't believe that he would do something like that to me.

"It changed my life forever. When I was a little girl I looked up to people like Princess Diana and these women and I feel like he took that away from me."

The socialite, who was being interviewed alongside her mother Kathy, added: "I'll have to live with that for the rest of my life and explain it to my children. It's something that changed my life forever and I'll never be able to erase it."

Hilton - who described the tape as the "most embarrassing, humiliating" thing that had happened to her - then leaned over to comfort her mother, who had been wiping away tears as her daughter recounted the incident.

The heiress can next be seen in the new Oxygen reality show The World According To Paris, which premieres tonight at 10/9c.

Paris Hilton apologises to Lindsay Lohan

Paris Hilton has publicly apologised to Lindsay Lohan after making comments about the actress's jewellery theft case.

In a preview of her new reality show The World According to Paris, Hilton was mistaken for Lohan when giving earrings to a homeless woman.

The socialite quipped: "If I were Lindsay, I would be stealing earrings... not giving them away."

Lohan is currently involved in an ongoing court case after being accused of stealing a necklace from LA boutique Kamofie & Company.

According to TMZ Lohan told friends: "[Paris] is mean. You don't have to make fun of serious matters in people's lives to be funny."

Hilton has since released an apology to the website, saying: "I apologise to Lindsay for the comment that I made. I was joking around but it was thoughtless and unnecessary.

"I am reaching out to Lindsay so I can tell her myself."

The World According To Paris premieres on June 1 on the Oxygen Network.

Paris Hilton sued

Paris Hilton is being sued for not returning $60,000 worth of borrowed jewellery

The hotel heiress was given the expensive gems from upmarket jewellers Damiani, but they were stolen as part of a $2.8 million raid at her Los Angeles home in December 2009.

Last year, police recovered all the pieces of jewellery taken from her house, but, according a lawsuit filed by German insurance giant Allianz, Paris has still failed to return the items.

The suit states: "Despite having recovered Damiani's jewellery, Hilton has failed to return all of the jewellery to Damiani as required by the Agreements."

In 2007, Damiani loaned Paris $60,000 of jewellery to wear for public appearances and as part of the deal, she agreed to stash the valuables in a safe or a vault whenever she wasn't wearing it.

The suit claims she did none of that and often left her mansion's front door unlocked and its alarm system turned off.

It stated: "On Friday, December 18, 2009, in the early morning hours, Ms. Hilton left her mansion and attended a party at Bar Delux in Hollywood, California. At some point that night, the Damiani jewellery was placed in Ms. Hilton's closet and not in the safe as required by the Agreements.

"On December 18, 2009, Ms. Hilton left the front door to her mansion unlocked. Like the front door, Ms. Hilton also left the safe unlocked that was supposed to be used to secure the loaned Damiani jewellery."

According to the New York Daily News newspaper, the suit claims a man in a hooded sweatshirt then strolled in through the front door and took off with $2.8 million of jewellery that was "sitting in plain sight" in Paris' closet.

Paris' spokesperson refused to comment.

Paris Hilton facing lawsuit over $60,000 in jewelry

Paris Hilton is holding $60,000 of jewelry that does not belong to her and should give it back, a new lawsuit contends.

German insurer Allianz has sued the celebrity socialite and heiress to the Hilton Hotels fortune, saying she has ignored several attempts to recover the borrowed jewels.

According to an April 6 complaint filed in a New York state court, Hilton borrowed the jewelry in 2007 from the Manhattan jeweler Damiani, promising to store it in a safe or vault when she was not using it.

But Allianz said the gems sat unguarded on a closet shelf in Hilton's unlocked Los Angeles mansion when they and some $2.7 million worth of other jewelry were stolen in a Dec. 19, 2008, burglary while Hilton attended a Hollywood party.

Allianz said Los Angeles police found and returned the jewelry to Hilton after it had already paid Damiani's claim under an insurance policy.

It said it began asking Hilton and two eponymously named companies she controls to return the jewelry, but that phone calls and email messages have been ignored.

Allianz's lawsuit accuses Hilton of negligence and breach of contract.

A Hilton spokeswoman said the lawsuit was "not based on fact," and that none of Hilton's representatives ever told Allianz that the stolen Damiani jewelry had been returned. "Only costume jewelry was recovered," she said.

The dispute is the latest involving a celebrity and jewelry. Actress Lindsay Lohan is expected to make a court appearance later this month on a charge that she stole a gold necklace from a Los Angeles store in January.

Paris Hilton may take legal action against author

Socialite Paris Hilton's lawyers may take legal action against an author who has accused her of making racist comments in an interview.

Contactmusic.com reports that Hilton hit headlines this week when extracts from Neil Strauss' book "Everyone Loves You When You're Dead: Journeys Into Fame and Madness", emerged online.

The book contains excerpts from an alleged interview with Hilton back in 1999, with Strauss claiming she made controversial comments about her love life.

But a representative for Hilton is adamant that the socialite never made the remarks featured in the book and she's now consulting her lawyers.

"These allegations are absolutely untrue and ridiculous. We have sent these claims to Miss Hilton's lawyers to respond further. It's another example of someone making false claims for financial gain," said a statement from Hilton's spokesperson.

Paris Hilton brushes off USD 35m hair lawsuit

Paris Hilton has announced that the 35-million-dollar lawsuit filed against her has been dropped.

The 30-year-old hotel heiress said that hair-extension company HairTech has admitted that it got its allegations wrong and dropped the case it filed against her in LA last August.

HairTech International principal Chris Volek had complained Hilton was seen out wearing competitors' hair extensions and that she missed a launch party for its product when she went to jail in 2007, costing the firm 6.6 million dollars in lost revenue.

Hilton had strongly denied their claims and filed a 1.7 million dollars countersuit.

The socialite, however, insists no money has been paid to HairTech to drop the suit.

"It is certainly not unusual for businesspeople to have their disagreements, but I am glad that Chris has acknowledged the hard work and dedication I put into promoting his products," the New York Post quoted her as saying.

Volek said in a statement, "The information I received from others and on which I based the lawsuit was not accurate.

My boyfriend is my hero

Socialite Paris Hilton has credited her boyfriend Cy Waits for saving her life when a burglar entered her home.

"He's (Waits) my hero... This guy came in with two huge knives... and Waits stopped him," dailystar.co.uk quoted her as saying.

The unnamed intruder was apprehended at Hilton's California home last year (October) by her security team. It was a second scare for Hilton -- in August last year, a man Nathan Lee Parada was arrested after he allegedly attempted to break-in while she was sleeping.

It looks like Paris Hilton and beau Cy Waits are planning to get married.

The two were spotted shopping for engagement rings yesterday at Jacob and Co., where they examined an array of baubles, including a 30-carat rare blue diamond, reports the New York Post.

The couple couldn't decide on a ring, but Paris bought one anyway.

She walked out sporting a black diamond-encrusted ring worth 25,000 dollars for her 30th birthday.

Hilton celebrated with Charlie Sheen's ex, Denise Richards, at Asellina on Thursday.

Who Stole Paris Hilton's Birthday Cake ????

Socialite Paris Hilton's 30th birthday cake was stolen by a Los Angeles musician, who crashed her party.

The hotel heiress threw a bash at V-Moda Fortress, a private house in the Hollywood Hills, Tuesday night and an uninvited guest Paz, who got into the bash through his "well-connected buddy Kevin", decided to take the three-tiered red cake after realising it wasn't being served to the 300 guests, femalefirst.co.uk reports.

"I woke up this morning with a USD 2,000 birthday cake in my living room. It's big. It's red. It says 'Paris' and its delicious ... At an inebriated moment I decided no one was going to waste USD 2,000 worth of anything on my watch. I had to rescue that cake," Paz posted on his Facebook page.

Paz admits he had to come up with a scheme to get the cake out of the house without any of the security guards employed realising what he was doing.

He managed to convince the head of security that he had been told to remove the dessert and was soon in his car with his unusual loot.

Its Time For Body Building: Paris Hilton

The 29-year-old socialite – who showed off a larger, more muscular figure when she walked down the catwalk at a Brazilian fashion show last week – is said to have been inspired by her fitness fanatic boyfriend Cy Waits and is apparently now on a 3,500 calories a day diet to keep her energy levels up for her intense workouts.

A friend of the blonde star told Grazia magazine: "Paris has always preferred to stick to dieting all the time to maintain her figure. but since she's been dating Cy, she's got the bug. It's a massive turnaround and now she's working out so much that she's often been seen on the treadmill drinking a milkshake."

Paris' new daily exercise routine – which includes weightlifting, bench presses and running on the beach with Cy, 35 – means she can now indulge in her favourite fast food treats after years of depriving herself.

Her friend said: "Paris has always loved junk food, but before she started working out to this extent, she had to deny her cravings. now she feels she can indulge once in a while, as she's burning so many calories."
Paris is delighted with the changes in her body and is planning to keep up her new regime.

The source said: "She wants to change her image and get properly healthy. At first she was unsure and it took some getting used to, but now Paris loves her new body. And Cy loves it too – he's always talking about how hot and gorgeous she is."

LiLo-Paris Hilton to fight in a boxing match

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have been offered $500,000 each by Hollywood Boxing Federation promoter to take part in a boxing match.

Federation promoter, Damon Feldman, has singled out Hilton and Lohan as his next two celeb boxing contenders.

Feldman has said he will donate the proceeds to anti-drug and alcohol campaigns and would give them the huge fees for them to give to charity if the reformed party girls - who both have convictions for driving under the influence - agree to step into the ring.

"We're calling it the battle of the bad girls of Hollywood," RadarOnline.com quoted Feldman as saying.

“They would use big pillow-sized boxing gloves. This would be nothing more than a fun match-up, and Paris and Lindsay have both dabbled with boxing training in the past.

"Michael could even help train Lindsay as he is undefeated in Celebrity Boxing!" Feldman added.

Feldman believes the light-hearted match would be the perfect way to strengthen their friendship further for the sake of a good cause.

He told: "This is a perfect way for the two ladies to give back.”

It's probably a man's dream come true!

Hairtech also says that Hilton broke their deal by breaking the law and going to jail in 2007.

Hilton's lawyer has called the lawsuit meritless. The star has not commented on the amended suit.
