First Bollywood actor on the cover of a gay magazine

Imran Khan has become the first Bollywood actor to feature on the cover of a gay magazine in India.

The Delhi Belly star appears in the new issue of Bombay Dost.

Wearing faded jeans and a pigeon-imaged T-shirt, he poses above the tagline: "A Bollywood Brokeback... Why not? Imran Khan comes out with a startling revelation."

Khan told the magazine: "It is flattering to be called a gay icon. I have always been a supporter of gay rights."

Devansh Patel, Bollywood columnist with the Harrow Observer, told Digital Spy: "Imran Khan has been a strong supporter for the gay community in India and across the globe.

"So him being on the cover should be a much-needed boost for the gay community, that they've got one of India's top actors to back them."

Khan appeared to kiss Ranbir Kapoor on the lips while filming an episode of Koffee with Karan earlier this year.

The two stars also featured in a parody of Tarun Mansukhani's gay-themed release Dostana while hosting the 2009 Filmfare Awards.

Celina Jaitley is the Hindi film figure considered to be the most widely associated with the Indian gay rights movement.

Imran Khan enjoyed 'Delhi Belly' bad boy

Imran Khan enjoyed playing a bad boy on screen in his latest film Delhi Belly, according to set insiders.

The actor, married to Avantika Malik, will take on the role of a womanising drinker and drug taker in the comedy.

Delhi Belly, which is mostly scripted in 'Hinglish', revolves around the messy lives of three bachelors sharing a flat.

Speaking to Mid Day, a source said: "He swears, drinks, indulges in several addictions and to top it all, is caught two-timing his two girlfriends. His relation with these two girls is an important track in the film.

"In fact, [his wife] Avantika Malik would often joke about how Imran is having a great time doing every thing that he doesn't believe in real life for Delhi Belly."

The actor will also be shown in a first-of-its-kind graphic love-making scene in the film, sources claim.

Ali Zafar is a really funny guy’ Says Imran Khan

Much has been said about the supposed enmity between the Bollywood heartthrob, Imran Khan and Pakistani Prince of Pop Ali Zafar. Reports of the tiff between Imran and Ali surfaced from the film sets of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan‘ with sources stating that the onscreen brothers are not getting along well off-screen.

However, we have just found out things are different and Imran Khan is having a lot of fun working with Ali. Even, Ali Zafar was shocked to hear the rumours and didn’t know where they started. In an interview with an Indian tabloid, Imran praised Ali’s dry sense of humor and said that he’s a really funny guy.

“Ali Zafar is playing my brother and I’ve been having a lot of fun working with him. It turns out he’s a really funny guy in real life! He has a really dry, deadpan sense of humor, and really enjoys messing with people, kind of like Punit (director of I Hate Luv Storys). So half the time I’m laughing, the other half of the time I’m begging him to stop before someone punches him. Again, like Punit.”

Yash Raj Films’, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has already generated a lot of interest in the masses and is one of the most anticipated movies this year. The film which completes its shooting schedule soon, is slated to release in theatres worldwide on 9th September 2011.

Imran Khan and Ali Zafar 'clash on set'

Imran Khan and Ali Zafar have reportedly fallen out on the set of their new film.

The two actors, who play brothers in upcoming Yash Raj project Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, are not on speaking terms, claims Mid Day.

A source told the newspaper: "Imran is the lead actor in the film. But then he started hearing that Ali was promoting himself as the lead. Not one to react to hearsay, Imran started getting irritated when people close to him also started questioning if he was indeed the lead actor."

Pakistani musician Zafar, who made his debut in the comedy Tere Bin Laden, is said to have let the commercial success of his first project impact his work in the film industry.

"Ali was painting him as an English-speaking actor and promoting himself as a favourite with the masses. Even though he's just one film old, he's been acting like a star while Khan is totally down-to-earth," the source added.

The project, which also stars Katrina Kaif, has been shot across northern India.

Jemima drops 'K' from her name

Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan’s socialite ex-wife Jemima has finally dropped the ‘Khan’ from her name.

Jemima, who has decided to use her famous maiden surname Goldsmith, tweeted to her friends and followers recently: “FYI — I’ve changed my user name to JemimaGoldsmith. It was time. Mostly though I was bored of people asking.” Jemima was earlier known as ‘JemKhan’ on Twitter. She even introduced her ex-husband Imran Khan a year ago by urging her fans to follow him on Twitter.

But she has had her share of embarrassing moments too when she posted her passport details on Twitter in a desperate bid to prove she was the “real” Jemima Khan. She got irked when two Pakistani women tweeted about her being an impostor. She surprised the two women by replying to their tweets, and when they pondered about her genuineness, she scanned her passport and put it up on Twitter.

Jemima is currently working on a book on Pakistan, the country where she spent almost a decade with her two sons and former husband.

Jemima was 21 when she married and moved to Pakistan.

Imran Khan and fiancee Avantika to wed in January

According to industry sources, Imran Khan and his fiancee will tie the knot in Thailand in January next year exactly a year after they got engaged. Says a source, "The wedding details got finalised recently."

There was talk of a wedding a few months ago, but the actor had denied it. He was busy shooting for his films and made it clear that he wanted to get married at a time when he was free from his work commitments, so he could plan and enjoy the most important day in his life. Buzz is, he has now decided on a date and the venue.

It is learnt that Imran and Avantika will get married in Thailand at an exclusive palatial resort somewhere near Koh Samui.

The exact date is still under consideration but the wedding will happen in January. Close friends and family will fly out for the shaadi.

The actor has requested producer Karan Johar to adjust his January dates for Short Term Shaadi, a film he stars in with Kareena Kapoor, so that he can get married.

IK and his to-be biwi have been dating almost six years now. They got 'ringed' on January 16 this year at a farmhouse owned by his fiancee's family in Karjat.

It was a quiet family affair attended by the Khan clan including Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao. Imran's releases in 2011 include Kunal Kohli's Break Ke Baad, YRF's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Karan Johar's Short Term Shaadi and Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly.

Imran Khan to become gay icon?

Imran Khan has reportedly become a gay icon after posing topless in publicity stills for his latest film.

The actor's management have said they are inundated with requests from gay fans for one particular picture.

On the rumours, an insider told The Times of India: "For three days now, we have been getting weird calls from various people who seem to have been so impressed by Imran’s shirtless pictures that they insist he’s the next gay icon.

"Some of them said he’s turning out to be the sex symbol they’ve been waiting for."

Khan told the paper he was unaware of the fuss, but was pleased to have captured another share of the market.
