Bigg Boss 4 - a pot full of controversial names

The line-up of contestants for "Bigg Boss 4" has a Pakistani terrorist's former lawyer, a thief-turned-detective, a former dacoit, a Pakistani cross-dresser and others. It's no wonder Colors chose Bollywood star Salman Khan to host the reality show, where controversy seems to be the ticket for entry.

It seems the "Bigg Boss 4" house in Lonavala, at the outskirts of Mumbai, might end up being quite a pot full of controversies this year with inmates like Mumbai terror attack accused Mohammad Ajmal Kasab's former lawyer Abbas Kazmi; thief-turned-detective Devinder Singh alias Superchor Bunty; actor Ashmit Patel, who was involved in an MMS scandal; and Rahul Bhatt, who was friends with David Headley, accused of scouting targets for Mumbai attack.

There will be fireworks in the house with former woman bandit Seema Parihar, who had allegedly killed 70 people and abducted over 200 before surrendering to the police a few years ago, joining others.

Some controversial names from across the border like Pakistani actress and former girlfriend of fast bowler Mohammed Asif, Veena Malik, and Pakistani cross-dressing diva Begum Nawazish Ali will also spice up the reality show, especially when they will be sharing the same house.

The show's glamour quotient will shoot up with TV actresses like Shweta Tiwari and Sara Khan, former MTV Splitsvilla contestant Sakshi Pradhan and model Aanchal Kumar. Also, joining the inmates will be Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari, model-turned-actor Sameer Soni and model Hrishant Goswami.

The 14 participants will be spending three months sans any communication with the outside world. They will clean wash rooms, will wake up early morning and survive on limited food.

The participants are not allowed to carry mobile phones and there will be no clock in the house which will be constantly under surveillance of about 50 cameras.

As compared to the earlier editions of the show, the set up of the house has been changed along with some rules. There will be no walls, no separate bedrooms for male and female contestants respectively and there will be cameras and microphones in wash rooms.

The colour scheme is brighter with yellow being the dominant shade of the interiors.

Every week a participant will be eliminated, and the one who survives till the end will be the winner.

The launch episode of the season saw a melange of participants taken on a guided tour of the house by Salman, who even performed later on songs from his hits "Dabangg" and "Wanted".

The contestants for the fourth season put up sizzling performances before entering the "Bigg Boss" house.

"Bigg Boss 3" winner Vindu Dara Singh and former contestants like Ravi Kishan, Bakhtiyaar and Tanaaz Currim, comedian Raju Srivatsav, were also present at the launch, and some like Kashmera Shah and Sambhavana Seth even performed.

Veena Malik attacks Neetu Chandra

As if tossing baseless allegations and falsely claiming that actress Neetu Chandra is involved in the international match-fixing scandal wasn't enough, Veena Malik, a starlet based in Pakistan, is now hurling more accusations at the Bollywood actress, this time from Indian turf.

Veena recently made headlines by claiming that her ex-boyfriend; Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif and his team-mates Salman Butt and Mohammed Aamer were involved in spot-fixing in the series against England.

While the Interpol and Scotland Yard are reported to be investigating the matter, Veena came up with fresh allegations that Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra had a relationship with the tainted Asif. She further declared that Neetu had a hand in the match-fixing scandal which has taken the cricketing world by storm.

“I saw her number flash on Asif's cellphone many times; that's what I told the investigators, ” mentioned Veena in an interview to a newspaper just before entering the Bigg Boss House in Lonavala.

Neetu Chandra's publicist Dale Bhagwagar, who has repeatedly denied and rubbished all of Veena Malik's claims, was quick to react, “Neetu has no connection with either match-fixing, Mohammad Asif or any Pakistani cricketer. She is not even a cricket fan and has never ever watched a complete cricket match.”

Meanwhile, Veena's speculatory claims about Neetu are putting a big question mark on the credibility of her scandalous statements. “Whatever Veena Malik says in Bigg Boss too should be taken with a pinch of salt. It seems, she says things for effect and to attract attention of gullible audiences, ” remarked the celebrity publicist.

When asked why Veena could be continuously dragging Neetu's name in the cricket scandal, Bhagwagar said, “It remains a mystery we'd ourselves like to solve. Veena has earlier stated that she has Bollywood dreams.

Media mileage in India is the only reason we can suspect as of now. What we don't understand is why Veena has without cause picked Neetu for it!”

Neetu Chandra just got hotter!

Neetu Chandra is getting hotter by the day and it's not because of the match-fixing allegations or the speculations about confrontations with Pakistani actress Veena Malik in Bigg Boss. It's because she is getting slimmer by the day!

Thanks to her regular 'hot yoga' sessions at True Fitness gym and special interest taken by her personal trainer Matina Tixera; plus a strict regimen recommended by her dietitian Pooja Makhija, the actress is losing weight at breakneck speed.

So much so, it even became a big problem for her costume designer on the sets of Anees Bazmee's 'No Problem'. Neetu was ready for a photo shoot for the film at Mehboob Studios this week, when her designer brought in a few sets of clothes the actress had tried out two weeks ago.

They fitted her perfectly then, but to the designer's surprise, they were loose for Neetu now. The couturier had to scramble to make the necessary alterations before she could go on the sets wearing them.

Now, now! Not many in Bollywood are so fortunate to lose weight as easily as Neetu does. What can we say, but 'Oye Neetu, Lucky Neetu'.

But she doesn't agree! “It's not easy. I slog for it, ” Neetu shoots as she laughs. She explains, “I do it because I want to give my hundred percent to whatever I take up. Plus, working out keeps me calm and balanced, as if in a state of meditation.”

Meanwhile, Neetu has been approached by the Bigg Boss casting agency Endemol for the show's new season hosted by another hot-bod Salman Khan this year. She hasn't given the nod yet, says her publicist Dale Bhagwagar. “Neetu isn't cut out for reality shows, ” he quips, but adds, “She also loves 'the new Boss' too much, so we haven't closed the negotiating door yet.”

It's Neetu Chandra v/s publicity hungry Veena Malik

Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra's publicist Wednesday rubbished Pakistani bowler Mohammad Asif's ex-girlfriend Veena Malik's claims that the Indian actress has links with the cricketer, now embroiled in a match-fixing controversy. Veena, however, claimed Neetu was lying.

"Without any concrete evidence, Ms. Malik is going on and on talking about how she thinks Neetu Chandra is involved with Mohammad Asif. She is probably doing this for publicity, as we've heard that she herself has Bollywood dreams, " Neetu's publicist Dale Bhagwagar told reporters here.

"If that is the case, then this is a cheap way to bag mileage, as in the process, Ms. Malik is maligning the name and reputation of an established and critically acclaimed actress, " he said.

But Veena, an actress and TV host in Pakistan, told an Indian news channel: "I can assure one thing - the telephonic details I've provided... those are authentic. At the first place that actress is saying, 'I don't even know who Asif is?' The mysterious part is that why she is denying the proof.

"I don't know how frequent they were calling each other but yes I have seen this number a couple of times and I asked Asif and he said, 'she is an actress and she is a fan of mine...', " she said.

Neetu, who has starred in films like "Traffic Signal" and "Garam Masala", allegedly got embroiled in the scandal when Interpol and Scotland Yard handed over Asif's mobile phone details to the Pakistan Cricket Board for investigation.

The document, which has now been leaked, was prepared by Scotland Yard and Interpol on the basis of information given by Veena Malik and it contains the call details of Asif made in 2009.

According to reports, the only mobile phone number from Mumbai recorded in the document belonged to actress Neetu Chandra.

The document also reportedly says that Neetu had made two phone calls and exchanged SMS with the controversial cricketer, discussing sensitive cricket issues and deals.

Said Bhagwagar: "Neetu is flummoxed about how her cell number has featured on such a scandalous list. She believes this could be a conspiracy."

He also denied that Neetu was interrogated by the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for having links with Asif as reported.

"The reports about Neetu being interrogated by Anti-Corruption and Security Unit of ICC are incorrect and baseless, " said Bhagwagar.

"Neither does Neetu know Mohammad Asif, nor has she been to Indian Premier League (IPL) parties or events as reported. Her name is unnecessarily being dragged in the match-fixing debate with unfounded allegations, " he said.

When Baba calls, you just go

When it comes to religious sentiments, it’s a known saying that god calls his devotees himself. Neetu Chandra experienced when she decided impromptu to take a road trip to Shirdi.

"I think it was the way of God to call me to his place. Kehte hain ki jab Baba bulaate hai toh aapko jaana hi hota hai.

Same happened to me as well the moment I woke up on Wednesday. Never before had I felt such a strong urge to visit Shirdi but this was something else.

I couldn't think of anything else and just started getting ready for the quick trip, " says Neetu Chandra who was accompanied by her mother and brother.

Since 2010 is anyways turning out to be quite eventful for Neetu, she has now decided to pray for her professional success and personal happiness.

"I am going to thank Baba for all the good feedback that came my way for 'Rann'. I also have some major releases coming up so I am going to pray for them too. But above all, I am also going to fight with Baba for the success of my friends which is long due.

I have a couple of close friends who are not from the industry, are very talented and deserve all the success coming their way. However, it appears that Baba is just testing them out.

I am going to question him that why isn't he being considerate to them. If he doesn't do the needful after this trip of mine, I will make sure that I pack my bags all over again and visit him to get into a fight, " Neetu adds.
