"Mausam" producer Sheetal Talwar of Vistaar Religare Film Fund says he was glad that Sonam could make it to the event.

"It was great that Sonam could make it for the launch, after all 'Mausam' is a love story and would have truly been incomplete without her," Talwar said in a statement.

It's hard to even blink when you see him dance onscreen. Even his speech was straight from the heart."

The young actress finds Hrithik's real life story very inspiring. "Its amazing that someone like him, who was advised by a doctor not to pursue dancing, ended up being the nation's best dancer.

It just shows you can achieve anything with determination, grit and passion. Those contestants are really lucky to be mentored by him, " she adds.

Speaking about Hrithik's HR locket that has caught her fancy, the fashion-conscious actress says, "I would love to own that HR locket."

The girl with vintage charm

Only a few films old, Sonam Kapoor has already tasted success, courted controversy, ticked off co-stars and celeb writers with her frank comments and has been linked with an actor and a director so far. A lot of water under the bridge for someone so young. At the moment, though, she’s excited about her upcoming film. “I am doing Thank You with Anees Bazmee, who I know from my childhood days. Akshay and Suniel are prompt with their jokes and make me laugh on the sets. Bobby is a shy person.” About her role, she says, “I play the role of Bobby’s wife and along comes a Casanova — Akshay. He keeps flirting with all the heroines in the film.” But  was unwilling to talk about Mausam. Our questions were avoided and the conversation turned into her passion for vintage clothes and sartorial style. She confesses that she pays more importance to looking the way her character should look. “I played de-glam roles in Saawariya and Delhi 6 as that was the demand of the script. But in Aisha I played a fashionable girl so I got the uber-chic look. In my latest film Thank You, my dresses are fashionable, modern yet simple at times. I am not here to wear good clothes and look pretty on screen, but to act. Off screen I am like any other young girl. But I usually appreciate and adhere to a style that is feminine and ethereal.” About her fetish for collecting vintage clothes, Sonam adds, “People collect stamps and coins and stuff, I collect clothes.

Once a vintage store had a brand called Jaeger. The outfit must have been about 20 years old. It cost me £30. That is like trash money. People who understand its importance will tell you that its value was about £1000-£2000. If you really have an eye for it, you will appreciate it. It’s like collecting art. My mom bought a Sabawala painting about 25 years ago and must have got it for Rs 25,000. Now it is valued at Rs 1.5 crore.” “I preserve these dresses. I have a green Chanel dress that I wore in Aisha. I got it from a store called Frock in New York that sells vintage antique clothes. I had to take such good care of it. I would remove it after every shot because it starts wearing off. My dad was like, ‘Tum purane kapde kyun pehenti ho?’” Moving on from clothes to men, we ask her about the kind of man she would date. And Sonam speaks her mind instantly, “My man has to be a mix of three things — he needs to be smart, shy and good looking.” When asked what look would she give her co-stars Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Abhay Deol, she said, “Ranbir has a sleek and a fit body. I would give him a geeky look. I would definitely dress Akshay in a smart jacket. Abhay is a laid-back guy. I would dress him in casuals because that is what he loves to wear.” We then move on to her female colleagues. There were rumours of friction between Sonam and Deepika Padukone, with Ranbir being a common factor. Are they friends now? “What do you mean friends now? We are from the same field. When we are working together we meet each other and once the film is completed we hardly meet. In fact we are all friends in this industry. Deepika and I came close during Karan Johar’s chat show and we are friends now.” And silence is maintained when we move on to her love life. Sonam is rumoured to be dating MTV VJ Cyrus Sahukar, who was part of the movie Delhi 6, Aisha and Thank You. All we can say is this girl knows how the Bollywood game works and can well reach the top.

Sonam Kapoor 'stops wearing Galliano'

Sonam Kapoor has announced that she will not wear clothes by controversial former Christian Dior designer John Galliano.

The actress, who played a fashionista in last year's Aisha, is upset by the designer's alleged anti-Semitic statements in Paris earlier this week.

A source told Mid Day: "She is extremely fashion conscious and loves wearing the brand's outfits, especially those designed by Galliano. For Aisha, a majority of Sonam's outfits and accessories came from the designer label.

"She even possesses a few outfits from the fashion house. But she could never condone anti-Semitic statements, no matter how much she loves the designer."

The Bollywood star joins figures such as Natalie Portman in condemning Galliano's widely-publicised comments.

Sonam Kapoor Donates 3000 Kites To Her Alma Mater!

Whatever actress Sonam Kapoor does, she does it in style, be it her swanky dresses in Aisha or donating gifts for charity. Sonam bought 3000 kites and 'phirkis' for the occasion of Makar Sakranti, but not for herself of course, she gifted them to the tiny tots at 'Arya Vidya Mandir' school in Juhu which happens to be her alma mater. She was not physically present as she was out of town for some shoot. She did write to the principle of 'Arya Vidya Mandir' apologizing for her absence.

She also mentioned in the letter that the strings sent along with the kites are not glass coated but normal cotton ones. Glass coated razor sharp strings can cause serious injuries to birds flying up in the sky and she being a member of PETA, wanted to spread the awareness. She also mentioned that as a kid, she very seriously injured herself once with the "maanja," and did not want the same to happen to the kids of "Arya Vidya Mandir." She mentioned that she badly wanted to be present at the school and personally give away the kites but could not do so.

A PETA spokes person mentioned that children love animals and they would never want to hurt them intentionally. If awareness can be spread among these kids, then it will automatically trigger the usage of cotton strings. Children must know that "maanjas" are equally harmful for them and other living creatures.

Sonam Kapoor 'dating Punit Malhotra'

Sonam Kapoor is said to be dating Dharma Productions filmmaker Punit Malhotra.

According to Mumbai Mirror the Aisha star and Malhotra are rumoured to be in a relationship.

A commented in the tabloid: "Sonam is not single - she is dating Punit. One doesn't know why they are not open about their relationship.

"But yes, they are very low profile at the moment, much more than they were even during I Hate Luv Storys. Sonam confides about her relationship with Punit to only a few close friends of hers."

The alleged celebrity couple reportedly connected during the New Zealand leg of filming the 2010

Deepika, Sonam face tough consequences for going against Ranbir

Latest reports from the tinsel town confirmed that Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor will not be joining Ranbir Kapoor in his July 2011 world tour. While actresses like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora Khan will be a part of the tour, Deepika and Sonam have been asked to quit.

It may be recalled that Rishi is upset with the two actresses for making rude remarks on his son's character in 'Koffee With Karan Season 3' and he prefers Katrina over Deepika and Sonam.

Rishi Kapoor admitted that it is impossible to bring Deepika-Katrina on board together saying, "Deepika wanted to come along. We didn't want any stress behind the stage. See, as it is, Ranbir has never been on stage. We want it to go smoothly, no backstage jhik-jhik, please!"

Sonam has backed out from the tour as well. Rishi Kapoor explained, "She begged off saying she didn't have a song repertoire to stand on stage with Katrina and Priyanka."

"We start off in the UK, US and Canada. Then after six months we'll go for another lap of the tour. I've done these world tours over and over again. But for Ranbir, the world tour would be a new experience," he added.

Sonam Kapoor's 'dress sense under fire'

Sonam Kapoor's adaptation of the traditional Indian sari has come under fire at a Mumbai event.
The actor, who recently played a fashionista in the Anil Kapoor-produced Aisha, received negative press at the launch of Masaba Gupta's boutique launch, Hindustan Times reports.

Stylist and television presenter Rishi Raj commented: "The classic look works the best, as seen on Deepika, Katrina and Vidya. Trying too hard to look 'designer' backfires many a time."

His criticism of Kapoor's unconventional look was joined by Reynu Taandon.

“If Sonam would have tied up the palla as a scarf on the neck, it would have looked more appealing. And if the net draped nicely, it would have looked elegant," said the designer.

The 25-year actress recently came under fire on Koffee with Karan for appearing on more magazine covers than on screen.

Kareena Kapoor 'signs political drama'
Kareena Kapoor is reportedly appearing in a politically-themed film for Farhan Akhtar's production house.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Sudhir Mishra, who worked with the star on Chameli, will be directing the production.

Mishra told the tabloid: "Yes, we have approached Kareena Kapoor for my forthcoming film to be produced by Farhan called Bhrub."

The director explained: "Bhrub happens to be the name of the central character around which the film will revolve. It's about a man who's an heir to a political family. Kareena will play the female protagonist. She has an equally important role to play."

The actress, who started her career in commercial Hindi cinema, has also experimented with arthouse projects such as the critically acclaimed Omkaara.

The filmmaker added that he wanted to explore this side of Kapoor. "She hasn't been exploited enough as an actor considering her immense talent," he said.

Deepika and Sonam learn from Kareena

Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor have decided not to talk about their personal lives because they feel "it takes away the attention from your work."

Dear New Actresses, if that were true, Kareena Kapoor would not have been the country's No 1 actress. Bebo has never kept her relationship with beau shrouded in secrecy.

Dippy and Sonam rated Kareena Kapoor as the best actress among five other actresses on Koffee With Karan. So girls, next time, just think before you speak. Contradicting yourself in a span of ten minutes doesn't make you seem very bright.

Did Sonam actually admit to her relationship (yes, it is still very much on) with her I Hate Luv Storys director Punit Malhotra?

When Karan asked her if she was single, Sonam's response was: "You know, Karan...." Even KJo was taken aback by her answer.
